I was in the cell phone repair business for a few years and this was a common scam.
Even worst scams are the ones that will take apart your phone, steal your logic board (with the good imei) and replace it with a blacklisted one.
As a seller, you're ass'd out since PayPal and swappa are geared towards the buyer.
Til this day, I have never sold a single tablet or cell phone through ebay/swappa. The risks are too high.
Although, my previous boss has gone through your situation a number of times. Part of the risk he was willing to take I suppose.
@ManOnTime, your carrier probably won't be able to solve this situation for you. You may either keep it as a WiFi only device or sell it for parts on eBay and try to recuperate some funds.

This is the first time to be gotten scammed like this, and it burnt me pretty bad. I'll never sell a phone via an online method again.
I'll probably put it up on eBay for a really low-ball price and see what happens.

Was supposed to have my Meister Driver delivered today. My wife is off of work for the summer (she's a teacher) and can sign for the package. She takes a shower in the middle of day and FedEx attempts delivery.

My last two Ebay sales have gone the same way from two different buyers:
- Offer submitted.
- My counter offer accepted.
- They never pay or respond.
- Ebay opens and closes a case against them.
Not sure what's going on, but annoying as all get out.

Far and wide I will find 'em and I ride 'em
Bricks and mortar get my licks just for kicks
AD or authorized I don't analyze
Retail, wholesale never fail
Online or offline, I find I don't redefine
Too big to fail or yard sale they all hale
Run or hide just for fun deals I find

eBay became buyer’s biatch, no question asked if a buyer backs out or does not respond, no way to leave feedback that is not positive, the seller is stuck with return shipping..etc, I think I will only be a buyer from now on.
