As you may have noticed, we we're offline this morning. This was caused by the "Thanks" plug-in going rogue and using up way too many server resources. This triggered an automatic suspension by our hosting provider as they thought it was a malicious attack. The "Thanks" plug-in has been disabled, hopefully temporarily so I can determine if that was indeed the cause, and take steps to prevent it from happening in the future.

I apologize for the disruption and for any confusion that may have caused.

CalWood Fire

Post by peskydonut »

Looks like there's another fire springing up. The Cameron Peak fire is still burning and has become the largest fire in Colorado history. Of course California is getting the worst of it. What a year!

Thanks! So far we're not affected, aside from the smoke. It's about 15-20mi from where we are.

Bummer. It's been a bad year in California, but right now we don't have any huge fires near my area.

Woke up to a welcome change in weather that hopefully will help with the firefighting efforts. Temps dropped to 35° and there's some cold drizzle.

Good news / bad news kind of day. The CalWood fire is now 15% contained, unfortunately another fire, Lefthand Canyon fire, sprung up southwest of CalWood necessitating additional evacuations.

Pray for rain. That sure helped us in Oregon.

Thanks all for the kinds words. So far we're unscathed. They just reported that 26 homes burned down in the CalWood fire in a day and a half. Can't really imagine. Grateful to be able to sleep in my home tonight.

Stay safe bud. Get your important **** ready to go (ya know, watches and pets). I feel for you and hopefully the weather really helps. Fire is so unpredictable.

Secondly, while the subject matter is grim, great pictures!! You really captured it well.
