Today I received an email from Ashford with the scariest subject line ever:

"It's a BIG, BOLD, Invicta World"

I might be the only person on this site that thinks the SKX line isn't anything special.

I am mostly with you on this. I have never owned one, but I am not really a dive watch guy. It just isn’t my thing, so the SKX line does little for me as far as watches go. However,...

<note>
The below statement reflects my imperfect understanding of the watch modding world, so I may be completely off base here.
</note>

I do greatly appreciate them as the availability of after market parts has made watch modding a lot easier and accessible to a great number of people. Without the popularity of modding the SKX we wouldn’t likely have me making lumed dials as the handsets/bezels, etc. would be less available than they are today. Many of those parts for the SKX will fit the Invicta 8926, but I am pretty sure they were meant with the SKX line in mind (see: Dagaz who designed his own watch after it was known that the SKX line was being discontinued).

I am guessing that small time parts makers started out making parts for the SKX and then expanded to include parts for the 8926 family(ie: Murphy Mfg.).

At any rate, the SKX line is special in that, I believe, it gave us the watch modding culture that wet are currently enjoying.

My watch box is full, so when I take off a watch and there's no room for it, I just lay it along the row divider. I'm sorry.

Don't tell us; tell it to the watch.

That horrible feeling you get when you find something you meant to buy on eBay... The day after the coupon expires.

Less of a confession, just didn't know where else to post this.

If a California dial is half arabic/half roman numerals.
What would you call a dial that is half numerals/half indices?
