A Lurker Steps Into the Light

Post by Klaatu3 »

New member here, just saying hello and “thanks” to MoT for running this addiction-enabling forum! I was bitten by the watch bug some 20 years ago, subsequently spending way too much time (and $$) on watch sites. I lurked on watch-related websites--including that “other” unmentioned forum a few years--but seldom joined in. Well, I lurk no more. To the great community that moved here recently, muchas gracias from south central Texas!

As an offering of eye-candy, here’s a subset of my watch collection (as a veteran I’ve developed a fetish for military watches—these range from WWII to Desert Storm vintage):

Welcome. Nice watches.

Is the small seconds next to the Bulova a Hamilton?

Why yes it is...good eye! I also omitted a WWII Bulova A-11 center-seconds, which is currently not working (everything in this photo is running). I'm honestly not sure of the military pedigree of that Hammy, the case is chromed but it certainly is vintage and at least military-inspired.

WUS can be mentioned. I'm not in the habit of discriminating. 8-)

Welcome. This is much more of a community here and I haven’t seen the same type of snobbery here that is present at WUS. My unconventional ideas are more at home here. Aside from my Timex buddies at WUS, I don’t miss anything. I need to get those guys to cross over...

Look, maybe I didn't say every tiny syllable, no. But basically I said them, yeah.

Welcome. Former lurker myself. Beautiful watches there. Thank you for your service also. My Girlfriend is retired Air Force. Served 20 years. She's a peach though. Every now and again she lets me pretend I'm in control. :D
