As you may have noticed, we we're offline this morning. This was caused by the "Thanks" plug-in going rogue and using up way too many server resources. This triggered an automatic suspension by our hosting provider as they thought it was a malicious attack. The "Thanks" plug-in has been disabled, hopefully temporarily so I can determine if that was indeed the cause, and take steps to prevent it from happening in the future.

I apologize for the disruption and for any confusion that may have caused.

What Orient watch is this?

That's a sliver/black, this looks like black pvd.

I think that might just be the lighting. The Orient Black Raven that uses a PVD finish appears much darker to me:

I think it's the lighting of that pic. I do not think reflection lines on the case right above the 52 minute marker wouldn't look like that on a PVD case. Also, it's definitely a Mako because of the numeral indices and I have never seen a PVD Mako. But I could be wrong.
I wish that watch were 38mm?

Here's the deal, they sent me an email with that picture and I really like the look of that watch but I can't find anything anywhere for the posted picture. It has numbers at 12, 6 and 9. So I'm still trying to figure out what it is :geek:

I guess you're right, must be the lighting.

It's definitely an Orient Mako II. So it's either been custom PVD coated or it's just the lighting of the photo that makes the bracelet appear darker than the stock stainless steel.

If it's a custom PVD coating, it doesn't look very good. See how there are obvious brush marks in the finish on the case and bracelet?

Sorry to be blunt, but if they are guilty of something, it is just poor lighting and a misleading photo. You actually got the answer to your question more than once but have chosen to ignore it. The picture is of an Orient Mako II FAA02001B9. There is no black PVD or DLC finish, it is brushed stainless steel that looks darker (but clearly not as dark as their actual PVD/DLC watches) due to the photography. If you really want a black watch with the Mako II dial and hands, you could swap that into the Orient Ray Raven II.
