This will reveal how ancient I am.
Sixty years ago on a Monday morning, my college professor of Chaucer told this story:
On Saturday night he and his wife had gone out for the evening. When they got home the professor went and changed the clocks for Daylight Savings Time. Either before or after that, his wife went around and she also changed the clocks. And unknown to both of them, while they were out, the maid had set the clocks ahead.
As a result, on Sunday morning bleary-eyed Professor H. and wife showed up 2 hours early for church.
