She caught me off guard so I think I let out a long "uhhhh..." Should've told her to ask her mother.

I would have gone with either the tried and true, "well, what do you think?, or, "unless they are unicorn hiccups"...

Re: Random Thoughts
But honestly I'm not disappointed. Vikings shouldn't have made the playoffs in the first place. This was a bonus game.
Here's to the Niners, hope they win the NFC and go to the big game.

Took my 20 yo Mazda Protege w/5 on the floor to Sams Club for new tires. Guy in the shop asked me to drive it onto and off the lift because the decal on the shift lever was so worn that he wasn't where the gears were.

Re: Random Thoughts
Just found out Google Fi exists.
Seems interesting. Apparently I can step off the plane in Istanbul and it would work without a local sim.
Not saying I plan on switching but interesting.

I got an early invite to the service back in 2015 when it was known as Project Fi. I didn't want to shell out for an at the time compatible phone, so I passed.
I'd still like to join, but they don't support the number of lines I need.

Re: Random Thoughts
I've been on since the Project Fi days. Occasionally I'll hit spots in the US where there's weak or no service where my work phone (iPhone on Verizon) can still get service, but that's very, very rare. I travel internationally once a year or so and can confirm that the phone switches service as soon as you turn off airplane mode. I had a little trouble connecting to service in the Bangkok airport. It's worked in Cambodia, Taiwan, Ireland, Germany, and Thailand outside of the airport.Spirit of the Watch wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2020 7:57 pm Just found out Google Fi exists.

My one-line bill averages $30/month at home and $40 if I'm traveling. By default, it will connect to trusted open wi-fi networks to reduce your data consumption, with Google determining whether or not to trust and automatically turning on their VPN. You can turn off this feature. When I first started with the service, there were call quality issues when the phone didn't recognize that the wi-fi connection was too weak for voice. I had to manually turn off w-fi to get a good voice signal. They recently opened up service to people wanting to bring their own device rather than choosing from the very limited options originally offered.
Does this give Google even more access to my personal data? Yes, probably. Were they going to get it somehow anyway? Yes, probably. Overall, I recommend it for international travelers who only need a single line. It may not be a great deal for heavy data users or multi-line families, though they cap data charges at 6GB now.

Another stream of consciousness post courtesy of my kids.
On the drive home from daycare..."If everyone in the world spilled milk, we would have to swim." Somehow between chowing down on her snack and telling me about her day, my daughter imagined a world where we're all forced to swim because the streets are flooded with milk.

Re: Random Thoughts
Ha! I think she's on to something here. I'm picturing some post-apocalyptic (the apocalypse being the moment everyone spilled milk at once) world that would be utterly terrifying especially for the lactose-intolerant among us. I wonder if Kevin Costner would have had more success if he made the movie Milkworld.peskydonut wrote: ↑Fri Jan 17, 2020 8:00 pm Another stream of consciousness post courtesy of my kids.
