Perhaps she meant Doritos?
You're giving her too much credit for sense-making ;)

I realized last night that i have no idea what gasoline does in my car, so, although i know the term internal combustion engine and get the general concept, i am reading up on it today. Did they teach this in middle school/high school and I am just not remembering?

Nope, not that I can remember. But I think maybe they should teach it, along with a lot of other real world education. I can remember watching a video a number of years ago with animation of what happens in an car's engine and thinking "How did I not already know that?" But I guess nobody ever taught me. It's amazing (and very humbling) the number of everyday things that make me think that. On the rare occasion that someone remarks that I'm smart, I gladly accept the compliment. But if they knew the sort of basic "common knowledge" topics that I have to Google on a regular basis, I'm pretty sure they would take back their compliment. :?

Just remember, all you really need to know is:

"Suck, squeeze, bang, blow."

But only if it's a 4-stroke. If it's a 2-stroke:

"Suckblow, squeezebang."

And if it's a Wankel rotary:

"Witchcraft."

Every so often I'll go on a journey of discovery, seeking out watches that meet a very specific criteria, but were not previously on my radar. I really enjoy it; I think it fulfills the same primitive needs as "hunting" for the best deal.

[emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] that's the funniest true thing I've ever read.

Also, maybe PeskyDonut drives a rotary and his daughter was just smelling oil being "consumed"

My younger one keeps referring to Old Glory as the "Captain America flag". I'm not sure if I'm failing or succeeding as a parent.

I had a McRib yesterday as a matter of fact.
Can't say I understand the hoopla. Or why people would drive miles to get one.

Meh'cRib in my book. Haha

Reddit sends me thread notifications rather randomly. Most of the threads are terrible, but this one and the comments did crack me up:

If you have seen The Wedding Singer, I was reminded of this scene as I was reading the thread:

I was pondering creativity today and came across this cartoon based on the famous quote from Ira Glass. It really connected.
