As you may have noticed, we we're offline this morning. This was caused by the "Thanks" plug-in going rogue and using up way too many server resources. This triggered an automatic suspension by our hosting provider as they thought it was a malicious attack. The "Thanks" plug-in has been disabled, hopefully temporarily so I can determine if that was indeed the cause, and take steps to prevent it from happening in the future.
I apologize for the disruption and for any confusion that may have caused.

I'm a fan of railroads and train graffiti/monikers in particular. Some of the pieces I photograph blow my mind, the intricacy, color selection, design, etc. Some of the moniker writers can make incredible artwork with just a markal paint stick.
I have a great appreciation for art and artistic skill but I couldn't draw my way out of a paper bag.

When I was in engineering school in AZ I had a skater buddy from Chicago who was huge into graffiti. We got the brilliant idea of me using electronic spare parts from a huge bin I had at school to make electro-graffiti. I glued and screwed weird boards and parts all over the town. I started connecting them via I/O ports and stuff. It got really funny before it was all said and done. I even added batteries and lights. Fun times. It’s hilarious wondering what people thought when they saw it.watchpalooza wrote:Totally agree...about to start a tagger / graffiti appreciation thread here with some shots I have collected.cortman wrote: ↑Fri Jul 05, 2019 6:30 pm I'm a fan of railroads and train graffiti/monikers in particular. I will admit that times have changed as far as what is considered acceptable. Back in ‘95 or ‘96 I went to high school dressed as the unibomber with a fake bomb (shoe box/wires/ticking alarm clock) for Halloween and nobody thought anything of it. That just wouldn’t fly today.

Yeah, it’s a different world now. Everyone’s suspicious of anything that makes them think.Sporkboy wrote:Until someone calls it in as a suspicious device and the investigation starts...cortman wrote:What a cool idea. A whole new branch of the art!Robotaz wrote: ↑Sat Jul 06, 2019 6:10 pm

If it ever turns out that peanut butter causes any grave or terminal illness, I think I'm pretty much screwed. Same goes for tequila.

Finally, a fitting place for me to share this...
My 4yr old daughter came over the other day and looking at the MoT banner asked- "Why is the purple one not changing? Maybe it's out."

My just-turned-five-year-old saw the flashing banner on my monitor and said, “Oh Daddy! You decorated the computer for Christmas!”

Tell her I'm one of Santa's helpers and it has to be like that because it's how I can keep an eye on visitors to this site so I can report if they have to go on the naughty list.

Re: Random Thoughts
I'm overseas and I think housekeeping took my Kindle Paperwhite because they thought it was an iPad. I deregistered the device and had Amazon block it from future use.
Which means it's now a useless brick and even if it weren't you'd need to posses a fluent understanding of English to get any use out of it.
Meanwhile, I had left behind a Citizen Blue Angels World Time Chronograph AT on the table.... that was left untouched. I'm also missing a cheap $5 t-shirt I would wear around the house (so of no real value to me or anyone else).
Not to mention I'll be speaking hotel management in the morning and being a small hotel....... Well, doesn't take a genius.....
Just makes me wonder why?

Hope you get everything back, as to why, they're looking for anything of value or useful. A watch that is not a Rolex is a worthless useless fake to 50% of the population.Spirit of the Watch wrote:I'm overseas and I think housekeeping took my Kindle Paperwhite because they thought it was an iPad.
