Retailers who do not remove VAT for US
I know this has been talked about in the deals thread. But seems a good resource to list which overseas sites do not remove VAT for buyers in the US
Here's what I know off the top of my head:
• Lip (France) - https://www.lip.fr/en/
• Ocarat (France) - https://ocarat.com/
• Vratislavia Conceptum (Poland) - https://vratislavia-watches.com/language/en/
• Watches2U (UK) - https://www.watches2u.com/
Feel free to add on below and I'll keep this list updated.

Far and wide I will find 'em and I ride 'em
Bricks and mortar get my licks just for kicks
AD or authorized I don't analyze
Retail, wholesale never fail
Online or offline, I find I don't redefine
Too big to fail or yard sale they all hale
Run or hide just for fun deals I find

Re: Retailers who do not remove VAT for US
One has to wonder what they do with the VAT from customers that didn't need to pay it.
Are they pocketing it?
Are they submitting it to their local revenue department?
Is the customer base too small to make removing VAT for them inconvenient?

Re: Retailers who do not remove VAT for US
I just assume they pocket the difference, but could be wrong.
This was the response I got from Watches2U, when I asked about VAT:
"We do not get involved with VAT refunds.
VAT is included in all our prices.
All prices are inclusive of UK VAT at the current rate of 20%, and are correct at the time you confirm your order.
We are more than happy to send you your order invoice to get this refunded elsewhere, but we do not get involved with VAT ourselves.
Apologies

Normally VAT doesn't bother me, but that is what kept me from pulling the trigger on that Dreyfuss.

Re: Retailers who do not remove VAT for US
They would never get involved with VAT refunds. It works similarly to sales tax on the US. They collect it, unless it's shipped out of state (or out if the country). By shipping it overseas, there's no VAT.TheJohnP wrote:I just assume they pocket the difference, but could be wrong.

VAT refunds apply when you buy goods in a country and depart later. You, as the buyer, can apply for a VAT refund when you leave the country. It's a pain and not generally worth doing unless you've spent a fair amount, but the shop still doesn't get involved.
And if they collect VAT but don't owe it, they pocket the difference.
