We're coming up on the end of April and 2 months since the last 26% cash back deal. Will they do it again??? I have no idea. I am doubtful that this is sustainable though. They have to be losing money when they give that much cash back! If you want to buy pre-owned the best deals go quickly. It might be prudent to then shop around now and bookmark your top choices. If you need to use Rakuten Global Express, sign up now. Be prepared...

Personally, I don't think these 26% CB deals will continue. I would love to be wrong. Just in case it comes back though I am prepared to pounce the moment it's announced. :-)
RGM cash back through Rakuten just jumped to 22%! Just like clock work. I would expect it to last ~24 hours... Too bad it's not 26%. Again, I just don't see how 26% is sustainable for them. They're trying to buy market share outside of Japan! It's going to cost me $200 more to buy what I want at 22% versus 26%, but I still think I'm going to jump on it. 2,000 points back if you use RGE - link on the home page, you need to sign up.

Whelp... I hope my order goes through. I used PayPal, so I will be waiting (probably a week) for the invoice to come through. I am using Rakuten Global Express since that was the only way to get the deal that I got. I have been wanting a "luxury sport" watch. I took at hard look on RGM at a Girard Perregaux Laureato and a Vacheron Constantin Overseas. However, the watch I really like is the Bvlgari Octo 41mm. It has an in-house movement, is thin, is Gerald Genta inspired, and the screw down crown gives it reasonable water resistance. Kind of a good "beater" luxury sport watch and very contemporary in the design. The only thing it lacks for me is lume. Any way, I just could not pass it up at $2,700 (after CB, store credit, and CC CB) for a store display model with bracelet.

This is why I stressed some of the things I have in my earlier posts:

1. Know what you want - there was only one vendor selling this watch as store display with box, papers, undated but stamped warranty card. The next best deal for new was twice as much! It's gone now, because I was quick to snatch up the only one like this within an hour of the sale starting.
2. Find what you want ahead of time - no stress, no frantic searching. I already had it bookmarked. Good thing I bookmarked it though. A search for "Bulgari or Bvlgari Octo" won't bring it up. I had to search "Bulgari 41" to find this one.
3. Sign up for RGE ahead of time - again no stress. This seller only ships to Japan, but my Japan RGE address is already saved in my account.

Happy hunting!

After selecting the address Rakuten gave us in Japan do we select "home delivery" or "branch office package receiving" ?

mplsabdullah Does your RGEx account say you can use it already?

When I check the RGX site it says they still need to verify my I.D. however when I go through check out it shows the address they gave me as a shipping option. I figured I would just place the order and see if it goes through. Maybe by the time the holiday in Japan is over my I.D. will be confirmed and my order will be ready to go.

Just not sure if I should choose "home delivery" or "branch office package receiving"

Any thoughts on import duties by using RGX? Usually when stuff gets sent through EMS it flies through customs but what is RGX using?

I really don't know about that one. I had the same issue. I selected "home delivery". The other option is probably to pick up a package at a branch post office, which I assume would not work with RGX.

I am curious about this as well. I could be wrong, but I believe that once all of your packages are at RGX and consolidated, then they will contact you about the shipping. I assume that you have options between FedEx, DHL, EMS, etc. I have heard that FedEx will screw you every time. I've had luck with DHL and EMS. I personally will choose Japan Post EMS, if it's an option, as I have received three packages this way from Japan without duty.

Anyone get a check mark for their shopping trip yet? I bought four items from four stores (only one is a watch though), all on the same shopping trip, and still no check mark. I already got the PayPal invoice for the watch, but the seller's e-mail says that I have until May 6th to pay before it's cancelled! I am waiting then to make sure at least the shopping trip gets checked.

By using the address Rakuten gives us in Japan for shipping we give up any buyers protection from PayPal right? Any reason to still use PayPal rather then pay directly with a credit card?

Even with the extended holiday, my email requesting payment from Closer came already. I was anticipating the possibility of not paying for at least a few days. No checkmark on my shopping trip but I also haven't for my last couple RGM purchases. I don't know whats up with that. I clicked through the site instead of the browser extension this time. Not sure about PayPal when it comes to RGX.

I placed an order last night using the address RGX gave me. I figured whatever confirmation RGX needed would get sorted during the period of the seller sending me a request for payment email and me actually accepting it. Of course later last night RGX sent me an email saying that my address on my I.D. did not exactly match my shipping address I gave them. Everything was the same except the unit number. Now this morning I see that my credit card has already been charged for the order even though the confirmation page said the seller would contact me about shipping to confirm the order before I would be charged. Upside is they didn't charge any extra for shipping from what I can tell. I sent a scan of an electric bill this morning to confirm my address with RGX.

As if waiting (hoping) for cashback wasn't enough of a roller coaster I've now decided to have my order shipped to an address given to me by RGX with no idea if or when they will get the order to me, lol.

Did anyone use EMS this time around? I thought we got confirmation a few weeks ago that EMS or RGX will work. Just wanted to double check.

I plan on signing up for RGX before the next promotion. But I used EMS for my order this time. Rakuten has said they have ironed out all the rules and Japan Post EMS orders are definitely eligible for cash back. I'll post here if I have any problems.
