Straps and Bracelets for Lunar Pilot

Post by MoT »

As most of you know, I finally got what I like to call the "Dave Scott" Lunar Pilot. It's the one with the polished case, no date, original font, etc.

Now I'm looking for straps and bracelets. I'd like a NASA style velcro strap, but it would have to be at least 12" long. Also, when it comes to bracelets I'm guessing straight end will be best, and I'd like it to be polished as well.

For bracelet ideas, I kind of like this:

Any thoughts or recommendations? I don't mind spending a bit since I think this will be a permanent part of my collection, but don't go nuts. $100 or less (preferable as much less as possible) is ideal.

Thanks for the leads, TheJohnP, I should have specified 20mm. I'll keep digging through Watch Band Center.

I like your polished version better than the blasted one. I always thought it looked a bit off how the blasted case is paired with a brushed bracelet. However I don't think in this case that the bracelet would have to be completely polished to look good. But some element of polished metal would likely look better. You could try a bracelet like THIS ONE pictured below, similar to what you have on your Tuna, with or without the ceramic links. They can also be found on ebay. Or maybe a bracelet that is mostly polished but with brushed center links, similar to an Aquis. I also think mesh is a pretty good-looking option. You can get a quality one from Staib or something pretty cheap off ebay. Or a thicker shark mesh might look even better. I've never seen one, but if anybody makes a polished version of Strapcode's Bandoleer, that could look really cool. I'm hoping you get some suggestions for a velcro strap. I've had really cheap ones that come with cheap watches but I've never owned any decent ones so I might also be interested in recommendations. Good luck and enjoy the new watch!
