As you may have noticed, we we're offline this morning. This was caused by the "Thanks" plug-in going rogue and using up way too many server resources. This triggered an automatic suspension by our hosting provider as they thought it was a malicious attack. The "Thanks" plug-in has been disabled, hopefully temporarily so I can determine if that was indeed the cause, and take steps to prevent it from happening in the future.

I apologize for the disruption and for any confusion that may have caused.

California dials don't do all that much for me but I do like 6 o'clock dates and crosshair dials. I just looked up the exchange rate for NZD to USD. At this time the retail price of $770 NZD = $495 USD and the early bird price of $501 NZD = $322 USD.

Nice to see mint/pastel blue and salmon dials though. wish more brands did them.

I like the colors.
I like the applied numerals.
I hate that the California dial is the only option.

I preordered. On the review from Patrick at Take Time, he noticed that when he first looked at the watch, he didn't even realize it was a Cali dial. I kinda agree with him. There's a proportionality and restraint here-- a Cali dial if IWC were to make one--that I really dig. Plus salmon and pastel blue.
(I like the dark blue gilt the best, but the white date wheel kills that one for me.)

I never find myself wear pilot or field watches; they seem too casual for my workday, and one the weekends I want something both a little wilder and a little more rugged, so I end up with divers. But I can see myself wearing this in all sorts of situations. Maybe I'll back out at the last minute, but it's just too cool not to jump on (especially since the late-early bird price was just about to fill up!)

... And then I cancelled. It's not going to get worn.

But the good news is there are still some late-early bird spots. And if they make $100K in sales, they're going to upgrade the lume to bgw9!
