After working as a watchmaker in several parts of Europe, Eugen Wegner opens his first watch workshop in Gdańsk, Poland in 1897.
Inspired by the historical figure Johannes Hevelius in Gdańsk, Eugen Wegner names one of his pocket-watches Hevelius. It quickly became a bestseller and is the inspiration for the first watch Eugen Wegner will release in 2020.
Due to unexpected developments in the watch industry and economic turmoil, the Eugen Wegner business failed to achieve the growth necessary to expand and closed down in the 1960s.
And in 2020, Eugen Wegner’s great-great-grandson has embarked on the adventure of reviving the old brand.
There are three models in the collection, Phoenix (three hander), Hevelius (small second), and One (chronograph).
