TEN ELEVEN NINE out of Berlin have launched their first Kickstarter campaign for their automatic "elegant tool watch" collection.
These look pretty fantastic, but feel these are way overpriced. But wish them the best on meeting their campaign goals.

Early Bird ricing is €999, or €839.50 without VAT (roughly $1,014.07)
Next Early Bird Tier pricing is €1,099, or €923.53 without VAT (roughly $1,115.58)
Kickstarter pricing is €1,199, or €1007.56 without VAT (roughly $1,217.08)
Regular price will be €1649, or €1,385.71 without VAT (roughly $1,673.87)

Estimated delivery is September 2021

The zip code 10119 of their studio in Berlin Mitte inspired them to create the brand name TEN ELEVEN NINE.

The goal of TEN ELEVEN NINE is to combine the subtle, sublime and minimal design of an elegant and timeless dress watch with the readability of a tool watch and the sturdiness of a dive watch. A reliable and perfect mechanical watch for any occasion, that will last a lifetime in best case.

The watches look ok, if not expensive but...their "Ten Eleven Nine" brand name goes against the minimal spirit of the watch.... 3 words, 13 letters?

I honestly don't understand how some of these brand names get the "ok" from the CEO's..."inspired by their zipcode"??? Wow, there is some marketing magic! I guess they were going for a "90210" thing ?

They could have just blindly thrown a dart at a phonebook or map, and the name would likely have been better - or at least shorter.
How's about "Mitte" = the heart of Berlin?
or "Osthoff"? = That is still better (named after the Kickstarter creator)...and some people were having issues with the "Atticus" name?

Brand name, especially in the age of internet stores and social media is a HUGE part of the total product...basic business 101. Reminds me of "Nine Four" watches = nice looking watch with the worst "76 gas station" logo on the dial = WTF?
I can't see this working out but....what do I know? I have an Aragon watch

Sorry, these things drive me crazy...

From their FAQ:
https://www.tenelevennine.com/pages/ethic

3.07 Why the name KING SIZE?
In the 50s and 60s, typical men's watches were 32-35mm in diameter. At that time, a 38mm watch was called jumbo size or king size.

My thought exactly!! I thought it's pretty ironic for a watch that's meant to be "subtle, sublime and minimal" to have such a name and logo.

"The zip code 10119 of their studio in Berlin Mitte inspired them to create the brand name TEN ELEVEN NINE." Really??! Oh my, they need to get out more. ;)

I agree it's overpriced, but a lower price point and a different logo/name would make them much more attractive propositions....so much potential!

Not sure how I feel about a watch where the logo is as long as the handset. Doesn't feel good, though.
