Re: Heads Up! I Saw A Bargain Here! 2020
If anyone is looking for some cheap straps, CheapestNatoStraps are having a major sale - a "save the business" sale according to their email.
Up to 70% off and an extra discount for bulk purchase:
"That's why we have a sale with up to 70% off on most of our straps. No discount code is needed, unless you buy 5 straps or more, then enter "20" at the end of the check out for an additional 20% bulk discount."
I've bought from them a couple of times. Decent enough and it would be a shame for them to go under.

But not sure if shipping costs from France make this worth it for US buyers.

NAD. Anyone thinks their elastic strap would last after 200 uses? I wear a watch about 5 times a year (heavy rotation). Thanks.baldrick wrote: ↑Sat Mar 21, 2020 6:31 am If anyone is looking for some cheap straps, CheapestNatoStraps are having a major sale - a "save the business" sale according to their email.

On a side note: Which one would you choose between their Marine Nationale Straps (has extra thingy) vs Paratrooper Straps? It's only $1 different.
Update: Found this thread complaining about their MN straps: https://forums.watchuseek.com/f222/chea ... 42319.html

99% sure it works for you. I literally placed my order last Saturday. I always check CAD, EURO, and GBP but never thought to check AUD. I could kick myself for not checking.tommy_boy wrote: ↑Sat Mar 21, 2020 8:24 amJust placed an order in AUD. My CC doesn't hit me with conversion fees. Re: Heads Up! I Saw A Bargain Here! 2020
A couple of Kohl's deals. I was not able to test the 40% code but if the code works these are pretty good.
Casio Duro MDV106 should be ~$34 after the code. https://m.kohls.com/product/prd-1438697 ... Ship=false
Casio Chronograph MTP4500D-1AV. I've seen pics of this one from a user on the forum and it is very cool looking. Should be ~$39 after the code. https://m.kohls.com/product/prd-620057/ ... Ship=false

Re: Heads Up! I Saw A Bargain Here! 2020
(Not a deal, but I think it's an interesting watch at a reasonable price)
The Победа will be the most widely made mechanical watch, was on the wrist of the Soviet citizens for many decades, and it was so popular that I have read that more than 75 million Pobedas were made in Soviet Era. The first pre-series watch was made at the end of 1945, and they were in production until recently, in 2004. The name means "Victory" and commemorated their victory in World War II, and had its origin (like other Soviet watches, even Gagarin's Sturmanskie) in caliber designs by the French company Lip.
Well-known German watch seller, Julian Kampmann from poljot24.de has put on the market a very beautiful (in my opinion) commemorative re-edition "75th anniversary" of those Pobeda, with a NOS caliber, made by another well-known manufacturer, Russian born-German Alexander Shorokoff, owner of Poljot International and Basilika watches. The watches would be sent out from May.
I know that some of you like watches of modest size. This one would be, 38mm. Another detail that I like is that you choose a warm plexi glass instead of the modern cold sapphires The strap in the pictures, distressed type, also has an aged touch to complete the vintage air... but it would be to have it in the hand, we know that in an average priced watch, it is usually a lottery if it is comfortable or stiff.
An interesting detail is that, unlike almost all of the reissues, which are made with a modern caliber, this one will have a NOS caliber like the one the original Pobedas had, the ZIM 2602. This mechanism, based on the French Lip R26, was simple and reliable, although it had a real luxury detail, a steering wheel with Glucydur type spokes and a Bréguet spiral. Now, I know what you are going to ask me, "what if it breaks?" The popularity of the original watch makes finding a donor for spare parts a very easy task.
The watch will be made with two dials, aged white and black, in two limited series of 100 units at the, in my opinion, more than correct price of 329 euros (around 350 US Dollars, minus VAT I suposse) plus shipping.
(Black)
https://www.poljot24.de/en/2602b.html
(Aged white)
https://www.poljot24.de/en/news/2602w.html
PS: Kampmann comments that the glass of the rear view will finally go without the "Pobeda" markings of the pre-series photos.

Re: Heads Up! I Saw A Bargain Here! 2020
I got one of these as a gift during a trip to Asia last year. Love it! The blue looks different depending on lighting and can be something closer to a slate or bright blue. This latest generation Monster looks and feels more mature than previous generations if you ask me. I don’t mean that in a way to talk down on previous gens, this one just feels different. The bracelet even dresses it up in a way with the fitted end links and whatnot.whoagorgeous wrote:

From Casio's product page here:
I bought the all black metal square last weekend and was upset when I saw this better discount code come about, but they also increased the price on that watch specifically so the savings gap wasn’t nearly as much so it didn’t bother me as much.
I’m looking forward to getting this red display square though! It’ll definitely stand out amongst other watches I have.
As others have mentioned, we may see more and more deals pop up because of the pandemic situation. If the deals that have come up already are anything to go by, I’m going to have a lot of temptation to resist!
Deals aside, there’s a lot of people out there that are going to struggle through this pandemic, unfortunately. Many of us are fortunate in that we can buy watches during this time, but I hope that as we all think about and discuss watch deals, we also think about how we can help others. If it means spending a bit more to buy a watch from a local business, great, everyone wins! But maybe buy local food or products if you can or something too or help in some other way. We’re all in this together as watch enthusiasts, but humans, too!
