I see listings on Overstock and Discount Watch Store for $799 but even there it's out of stock. There's a new listing for $700 + $14 shipping +$39 tax OBO on eBay as well, but no returns accepted which I always find sketchy. Retail $1,700 for this bracelet version.

I'll probably get flamed for saying this; regardless, while this might be the best price RIGHT NOW, it's really just an ok price...historically speaking, as these were going for under $400 for quite a while within the not too distant past. Not trying to discourage folks from posting deals, rather, just trying to be a good consumer advocate!
I appreciate you pointing that out. Now this is just my perspective having not followed watches for a year and a half now and just getting back into it, there have been a lot of surprises for me. For example I will say that future prices of many of these watches are pretty unpredictable.

I remember discussions in early 2019 before my MoT / watch collecting hiatus along the lines of "good price but I'm waiting for it to drop more" or "it was X amount of dollars in the past ill wait til it hits that again" and then those things simply didn't happen, and now I'm surprised by how much the prices actually went up!

You can't find quite a few alpinas for those great prices of the past any more, and I remember a time where these things were discounted left and right. The SARY057 that I bought a year and a half ago for less than $200 as a "junk watch" to save wear on my sarb035 is now going for $300+ pre-owned and $550+ new. Prices of the past aren't always guaranteed for the future, and the fact that the KonTiki is not simply over priced, but physically sold out, at many places makes me more inclined to think that this is yet another one that may be coming out of its glory days of reasonable pricing.

This is just how I see things from my experience of getting out then jumping back in. But I also see your wisdom in not jumping on the first decent deal you see when better deals have occurred.

Great watch, but I prefer the red. If only there were some kind of, like, bazaar area where you could get a lightly used one for a good price.

Joma has some really great prices on a number of Ball watches. The Engineer Marvelight prices are the lowest I have seen new.

I impulsively bought the blackout from Tilly's last night which now appears as oos. Thanks for the heads up on that!

Red is currently available at Macy's.

Casio Oak from the Macy's sale arrived today.

Got it for $75 which is probably the best deal for this watch. I believe the sale is still ongoing.

Touch of Modern is having this weird promotion where you get store credit that's equal to the sales tax paid on any purchases. So I guess that's like getting stuff tax-free except you can only spend the savings at ToM? Weird, but maybe it would interest someone.
