This must be remedied, as my Ross Simmons winder is getting lonely.

So I am looking for an everyday auto with the following characteristics:
-40mm or smaller (less than 50mm lug-to-lug is really what I need)
-Arabic numeral indices or at least 3-6-9
-Date
-Hacking seconds
-New or used
-$300 or less
-No Seiko or Chris Ward

I have been this || close a couple of times to just buying a khaki field auto, which is what I'll still probably do if I don't like any of your suggestions. But I wanted to field ideas on something a little less common/obvious. To give you an idea of the style I'm interested in, some watches I like at the moment are the Traska Summiteer, the new Venturo Skin Diver, Smiths Everest Expedition, and the Oris Big Crown pointer date, among others.
How about this Certina DS Podium?
It's 38mm.
Arabics at 12, 3, and 9.
Date window nicely placed at 6
Comes on a bracelet
ETA 2824

On sale at Joma for $299, but you can save $20 with code WC20AYS8MN3WC

How about an ETA 2892 for less than $300??

Little on the edge of your parameters size-wise.
40mm
Just under 50mm lug to lug from what I could find (49.75mm)
Less arabics, but oh well.
Black or white dial

On sale at Joma for $315, with code WC20AYS8MN3WC comes to $295

Update to those interested: I ended up snagging a Mako II off of Reddit. It's not exactly what I was looking for, but I figured for less than $100 it'll do the trick. Plus I remembered the Halios Universa is going up for preorder soon (I hope) so I might spring for that.

Well, I'm itching for a new watch even though the last one I bought I haven't received yet. I've been looking at the Dan Henry 1970 in blue, but I think I really just want a LONGINES Legend Diver Automatic 36mm. Just kicking tires right now, but may pull the trigger on a good deal. Will consider used or new. Also, no preference on leather strap or bracelet. Thanks!

There's a Speedmaster 57 Trilogy on WUS for like $5600. I think because it doesn't include box/papers.

The Speedy trilogy is a beaut. Would love to pick one up, but a little out of my range right now. Also, there is something about that listing that just doesn't feel right.

Where? That's about the same as I was seeing. Looks like the 42mm is easier to find too.

Interesting... Sounds like I need to do some research on Yahoo auctions. Is there already a thread started somewhere?
No thread for Yahoo but if you have shopped on Rakuten global it's kind of similar. I should probably make a thread though about it and which proxy companies there are etc

Figured I should ask here before splurging on an NTH or another eterna kontiki.

But I'm looking for something to add to my collection. Don't care what brand it is or how much it costs (although under $1000 would be cool). I also don't care if it's modern or vintage.

Looking for something like a field or everyday watch or a diver with:

- 36-40mm case
- reliable manual or automatic movement
- 20mm lugs
- really high quality oyster style bracelet or beads of rice with a really good clasp (bonus for push button release and not friction)
- drilled lugs
- large crown with really smooth winding and has super good action when unscrewing/screwing it in
- dial in a "normal" color like black/blue/gray/cream etc
- sapphire crystal
- no crown guards
- preferably a more curvy flowing case rather than a lot of hard sharp edges

I keep coming close to stuff with all the features I want like the NTH sub models, but I'm sure some of you have interesting ideas. I know the Christopher Ward models are close to what I like as well but I just don't vibe with them or something I'm not sure.

Or if you're selling an NTH or kontiki yourself let me know ;)

You've got just enough "needs" that I'm finding it impossible to come up with a watch that checks all those boxes.
I've come close with a few, but the closest I can find is going to be Lorier
Only thing they don't seem to have is sapphire, since they use plexi.

Heehee yes I think extremely few watches exist with all those features. I looked at Lorier a few times and they would be what I want, but I really dislike the case lugs and especially the bracelet links (too many hard edges). Still though a very good option. I think I blame DogOnTime for my pickiness with future purchases now lol. Maybe I will just start my own microbrand
