As you may have noticed, we we're offline this morning. This was caused by the "Thanks" plug-in going rogue and using up way too many server resources. This triggered an automatic suspension by our hosting provider as they thought it was a malicious attack. The "Thanks" plug-in has been disabled, hopefully temporarily so I can determine if that was indeed the cause, and take steps to prevent it from happening in the future.

I apologize for the disruption and for any confusion that may have caused.

I arrived in San Luis Obispo, California, with enough time to wander around. My 'formative years' were party spent here going to college, so wandering around was like visiting ghosts as memories floated up to the surface. It's been about 30 freaking years, but it feels so recent. The craft brewer where I learned to love stout is gone -- the one thing I expected to do when I arrived was quaff a stout while enjoying the view from one of their upstairs tables.

Gus's Grocery is just a deli, but they used to have a biergarten-like patio with trees and picnic tables. No longer. But they do have this amazing stout which is a local product. I know the photo sucks, esp. with the dusky light, but I thought it caught the closing time feeling of the place and the eerie sense of 'there but not there' that I get as I visit. And I was too busy enjoying my drink to fool with it.

That's one of my favorite areas of the country. I don't know the town of SLO very well but I've looked into getting temporary work there on one more than one occasion. Unfortunately it never worked out but I may look into it again at some point. Enjoy your visit BC. 🍻

I do enjoy a glass of gin and tonic from time to time; especially in summer. Have you already tried Monkey 47 gin? One of my favorite. Cheers!

Pretty tasty pilsner if you ask me and not sure I'd ever describe a pilsner as tasty

That Tecate logo is making me think that Citizen should bring back their Eagle automatics.
