As you may have noticed, we we're offline this morning. This was caused by the "Thanks" plug-in going rogue and using up way too many server resources. This triggered an automatic suspension by our hosting provider as they thought it was a malicious attack. The "Thanks" plug-in has been disabled, hopefully temporarily so I can determine if that was indeed the cause, and take steps to prevent it from happening in the future.

I apologize for the disruption and for any confusion that may have caused.

Maranez has two new offerings that may be worth a look, particularly because the 20% Chinese New Year discount code RAT is still active until 2/7. Check the links for all the available colors. Big up to the folks at Maranez for remembering that homage doesn't necessarily mean copy.

A few more Seiko Prospex Divers. So far just leaked images from a catalog. A hi-beat Marinemaster 300 SBEX011. A 62MAS lookalike, reference SBDC101, that most are speculating will be around 40-41mm and contain a 6R15 or 6R35. It could be a 4R35 but I doubt it. A Save The Ocean (how many are there now.....can we call it the ocho?) King Turtle SBDY063. And the SBDY061, what looks like a "Street" solar tuna but is actually automatic. The SBDC101 "6RMAS" will absolutely be a big deal. But my guess is that it won't be cheap......or there will be some other catch. Limited perhaps. I know that Seiko isn't afraid to upset their fans. But I have a hard time believing that they will put out something that is affordable, easily obtainable, and very similar to the SLA017 62MAS reissue of a couple-few years ago. We'll see. Please update here if you see anything more about it.

As long as the SBDC101 is significantly cheaper than the SLA017 was, it stands a good chance of being my first Seiko purchase in a long time. Thought I was done with Seiko aside from their solar models (I want a Street Series solar in particular) and maybe Grand Seiko someday, but the 101 looks like a winner to me.

SDBY061 is also kind of neat, but I think I actually prefer solar for the Tuna design.

Why must these be 42mm? Surely, a 38mm case would have been perfect for this watch. Both iterations look solid, but the size is crazy.

I'm just going to put "I wish that watch were 38 or even 40mm" in my signature so I don't have to type it in this thread as often.

EDIT: Rabirnie beat me to it.

100% agree. It was my first thought. Same for the Murph. They are all great looking watches that are just a tad too big. Sames thoughts from the W&W readers too in the comments below the article. I wonder if these big companies ever read the comments for those articles. There is definitely a disconnect and I have no idea why.

yinzburgher, first of all, big thanks for your numerous contributions. Where on earth do you find the time? :)

With regard to your comment, I wonder if WISs or those who comment do not always represent the bulk of these companies' target audience and clientele. I am clueless about these things...

Even at 42mm, that grey & black version is swoon-worthy.
