The first line in Hamilton Powell's announcement made me gag.

"Crown & Caliber has been acquired by HODINKEE, the industry leader in editorial content and pioneers in horology."

Really? Really?!?

What in horology has Hodinkee pioneered, exactly, other than refining ways to separate the unknowledgeable from their money?

I predict two things:

1. Prices will go up.
2. Quality will go down. Winkee's accuracy in presenting pre-owned/vintage pieces for sale isn't exactly great.

I thought the same thing when I read "pioneers in horology." I actually let out a little chuckle. SMH
