While it's a very impressive achievement, I think it's probably telling that they don't include any any wrist shots.
At 28mm thick, I would probably choose a thick rubber strap, rather than adding to the thickness with a NATO. As impressive as this submersion is, I'm probably more impressed by the previous record almost 60 years ago.
This is now the deepest diving watch of all time, taking the record previously held by the bathyscaphe Trieste, its pilots Captain Don Walsh and Jacques Piccard, and the legendary Rolex Deepsea Special. They reached a depth of 10,916 meters back in 1960, meaning Vescovo and Omega have gone 12 meters deeper.

Every two years dating back to 2005, many of the world's finest watch brands have joined together in an effort to raise money to support the research of Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Each brand produces a one-off timepiece that will be showcased in various worldwide locations from 9/25/19 until 11/9/19, at which time they will be auctioned in Geneva. The event is called Only Watch. See the full list of watches in the Monochrome article linked below.

Haha! Along the same lines, every time I see that meteorite dial GMT Master II from this past BaselWorld, my brain says "that time that Rolex made a Zelos."

But also, just in case people don't scroll through the whole list of Only Watches, this is what MB&F is bringing to the auction.

The T-rex is a cool “watch”

I wonder how long will it take for the Chinese (or Ginault) to make a homage to that

The real one will make a great conversation (bragging) piece though...”oh that,I won it at the auction for a cool million euros”

50 years ago, Swiss movement manufacturer Dubois Dépraz helped Breitling, Heuer, and Hamilton develop the Chronomatic or Calibre 11, one of the very first automatic chronograph movements. In the years since, Dubois Dépraz has been best known for its chronograph modules, which can be combined with a standard movement like an ETA 2892 to make an automatic chronograph. Now, the company has revealed its first fully integrated automatic chronograph, the Calibre DD 540. The new flyback chronograph movement with column wheel and horizontal clutch features a two-register layout in addition to date complication and power reserve indicator.

Tempos Fugit article:
http://www.tempusfugit.watch/2019/10/boom.html

Atelier, a new movement manufacture in America, is introducing an automatic watch movement to the North American market.

Atelier is a U.S.- Swiss venture that is closely collaborating on establishing the supply, assembly, and manufacturing of automatic movements in the U.S. One of the objectives of the U.S.- Swiss alliance that led to the creation of Atelier was to develop an 11 1⁄2 caliber suitable for the volume market in the U.S. The result is the Caliber 1. With ETA ceasing to supply third party clients on 31 December 2019, many brands in the U.S. are seeking alternative suppliers. The Caliber 1 is not a clone of a pre-existing caliber, however it is a drop-in replacement for popular calibers brands are currently using.

Technical Specifications:

The Caliber 1 is a robust movement that is Chronofiable® Certified with a transversal balance bridge. This allows for stable and precise positioning of the oscillator. The bridge’s rigidity greatly improves shock resistance.

- Diameter - 25.6mm
- Thickness - 4.6mm
- Frequency: 4Hz (28,800 Vibrations per hour)

Seiko and Grand Seiko have announced that they will not be exhibitors at Baselworld 2020, the largest watch fair in the world. The show is scheduled for May instead of March and a representative for Seiko said it would conflict with Japan's Golden Week holidays. It is not known if Seiko will return to Baselworld in the future. This deals yet another blow to the beleaguered trade show after the withdrawal of the Swatch Group (previously the largest exhibitor) in 2019.
