When I think of those cheap digital watches with stainless steel cases and bracelets that were so ubiquitous in the 80s and 90s, I typically think of two brands....Casio and Timex. You can still buy those type of retro digital watches from Casio and Timex now, but unfortunately you have to pay a bit more if you want one with a stainless steel case. Most of the models under $20 actually have a plastic case with chrome plating or silver paint that chips easily. But I think the watch below seems to be a nice stainless steel alternative for less than $20 (well, sort of).

Speidel is known mostly for it's bracelets, straps, and bands....and particularly for the Twist-O-Flex Bracelet. But they are currently selling a stainless steel digital watch with that bracelet on their site for just $25 (previously it was over $50). If you use the promo code SPOOKYSAVINGS, the price comes down to just $18.75 The caveat is that unfortunately there is a small shipping fee for orders under $50 (showing as $5.73 for me).

There are some particularly helpful posts from user roverguy78 who clarifies some of the details that aren't so clear on the Speidel site:

Lugs: 20mm (All of the Straps!)

The module is made by a Chinese company called Baojie. It is model # BJ3716A. Apparently they are a major supplier of modules and have been around for 20 years............Battery is a CR2016 with an estimated 2 year battery life.
