SUPER CHEAP AFFORDABLE WATCHES! - THE $20 OR LESS THREAD

Post by yinzburgher »

Welcome folks! You've found the thread for all things pertaining to cheap, inexpensive, ultra affordable watches. This is the place to post your pics/photos, reviews, discoveries, recommendations, questions, thoughts, ramblings, etc about watches that cost $20 USD or less. Sorry, this is not the place to post about free or gifted watches. Watches that range from more than nothing all the way up to $20 is the sweet spot. Maybe $20 is your whole budget for watches for the entire year........start here. Maybe you snagged a deal on ebay for less than a Jackson. Show it off and brag about it in this thread......doesn't matter if it's new or used. Bruised and battered beaters are welcome. Timex, Casio, Armitron, an old thrashed Vostok, HMT redials, quartz, digitals, old hand-crankers, Ali-Ex specials, fashion watches, crimes against horology, whatever you got.....this is the spot. Maybe you have a question or recommendation about a watch that generally sells for less than a dub......post here!

First up is one of my beaters that has been used and abused for years but still works like a charm......my Casio MRW200H-1BV. Casio's product page shows a price of $24.95 but Casio is selling it HERE on ebay for $19 and I think I paid in the $10-15 range 6 to 8 years ago. I definitely got my money's worth. It's been a casual everyday watch, my work watch, a gym/exercise watch, an outdoors/camping/hiking watch. Usually if I'm going in the water I wear a watch with a screw-down crown but this one says 100m resistance and has survived many a dip in the pool. And if it ever gets damaged, $20 or less gets you a brand new one. Very, very legible too. I recently ran across a Youtube review HERE where a watchmaker calls it the "Best Value Watch In The World." Thinking about picking up a Breitling Colt Skyracer? Forget it! Get yourself one of these instead. The image at the bottom shows some of the other variants of the MRW-200H-1BV. I really doubt I'm the only one here that owns one of these. Anyone else? Any other bargain basement buyers out there? Whaddya got?!

I have the orange MRW-200H. It was my beater (and has the paint splatters to prove it), but I strapped it to my heavy duty winter gloves and it's kind of a pain to take off, so there it shall remain. The navy/yellow 2BV is sweet!

1) Go to eBay
2) Type in FHF or ST 96
3) Behold at least 1,000 17 jewel hand wound beauties.

I have a few. Add a strapsco strap and for way under $30 you’ll have a smile on your wrist. Mine are around 3 years old and keep remarkably good time for what they are.

I believe it was only $9. Awesome watch for that price! Those super low flash Amazon deals are great but I haven't seen too many in the past few weeks. The last couple have been $5 Armitrons. They usually last less than an hour.....sometimes just a couple minutes. So you gotta have a quick trigger finger!

I love the topic. I have a Casio w800-h (I think). I modified it to include the countdown timer and swapped in a blue LED. Tremendous utility for the price of under $9 from Amazon. Normally around $14 though. I will try to find a picture.

Great thread idea! I have a lot of watches purchased sub-$20...vintage stuff mostly. If you want, I can post them here.

Great thread. My cheapest watch still doesn't quite make the grade, but at $35 I love my Timex MK1 field watch.

May I suggest something like this W217H-1AV for about 17 beans. It's basically a larger version of the F91W. If that doesn't do it for you, have a look at some of Casio's other cheap digitals HERE. :geek:

Lol! The F91w was probably my first ever watch, when I was like 6-7, a Christmas present from my dad and mom. For some reason though I just can't bring myself to buy a digital yet. For me maybe it's that a watch loses a bit of its charm when it goes to a stark, electronic display. I'll probably grow out of it in time. [emoji38]

Whoa.......Awesome collection watchpalooza! I can't believe you nabbed that Tissot and especially the gold Hamilton so cheap. If you every look to unload that Casio Data Bank 30, I might know of a good home for it.

Watches under $20

As per usual we can trust that Watchpalooza will crank up a given thread to 11. That is what I get for not taking my time in responding to a thread initially. Fine, be that way Watchpalooza. You leave me no choice other than to post pictures of watches that I did not pay anything for. These are limited to what I have pictures handy for as there is at least one more.

1. Swatch .beat Aluminum- gifted by Watchpalooza.
Image

2. Rolex Oyster Perpetual Air King-inherited. A very high price to pay for a watch, but less than $20 in money.
Image

3. Purple Swatch- inherited.
Image

4. Timex Todd Snyder- gifted by Wolfsatz.
Image

5. Timex Waterbury- Claimed from BillionareDoors’ thread.
Image

6. Lifted Research Group- MoT PIF claim.
Image

7. Kronotron- WUS PIF claim.
Image

8. Sekonda pair (only one shown)- WUS PIF claim (I believe from AnimalMother)
