As you may have noticed, we we're offline this morning. This was caused by the "Thanks" plug-in going rogue and using up way too many server resources. This triggered an automatic suspension by our hosting provider as they thought it was a malicious attack. The "Thanks" plug-in has been disabled, hopefully temporarily so I can determine if that was indeed the cause, and take steps to prevent it from happening in the future.

I apologize for the disruption and for any confusion that may have caused.

Just in from AliExpress (ordered November 6).

The red tipped hand is a 24hr/GMT/second time zone hand independently set via the recessed pusher at 2:00. I was happy to see that it is a jumping hand!

The sub dial at 6:00 is the date, set with the recessed pusher at 4:00.

Quite happy with this so far.

Just got this for $65 shipped. It ended up being a store display, but was in good enough condition for the price for me.

Just in time for Citizen Sunday. I love the size of this little guy. I don't love the 9 o'clock register hand flopping around, nor the seller's packaging in bubble wrap and a padded envelope. Keeping an eye on its accuracy while I decide what to do about the loose hand (fix it myself or take to a watchmaker).

Confession: Actually bought it 70% for the bracelet...

Edit: Bohle, btw, was early days Davosa Watches (formerly Bohle GmbH). Here is a quote from an email from a Davosa rep (reposted here from a German forum post):

"The Bohle watch actually comes from our production. In the 1960s, we served the watch trade with so-called Wehrmacht watches (clear dial, Arabic numbers, screwed bottom). Watches have always been our passion. The Bohle brand, which was registered internationally, was registered until approx. displaced in the early 1980s. They were mainly mechanical watches."

It's TheJohnP 's fault for enabling me. :D

Lip Himalaya 40mm Automatic model 671586 just arrived today. I very much like the vintage vibe of it. I got it from TimeByMe.

Great pictures. Very clean and classy. I dig the applied numbers and indices. Enjoy!

Thanks! That's what drew me to it. I really like the vintage navy design, such as with the Laco Casablanca, Stowa Marine Classic, and the Tissell Marine. But I had never been able to pull the trigger on this navy style until I saw the design with applied indices and applied numbers. And I like the red tipped second hand.

I'd be curious to know if there is a vintage Lip with the marine design with applied indices, or if they added those for this remake.
