I'm just hopeful for a tough solar variant... It's inevitable based on the success.

Well for anyone that was holding out for a full metal "Casioak", I guess these newly released MTGB2000 series might fit the bill..

They have a not-quite octagon shaped bezel and the carbon core guard, also featuring tough solar charging, atomic sync, and bluetooth connectivity. Price is between $950 and $1000 though :?

Finally got my hands on a casioak. Armand from Nagi Jewelers even sent me a G shock beanie for my patience.

New pickup from the recent MLTD coupon. GBA800SF. Like the color scheme. I think it's one of those seasonal options that won't be around forever. And like that it has a positive display.

Hoodinkee has a couple of G-Shock articles on its front page:

A design story on the "CasioOak"

A John Mayer Hoodinkee exclusive DW6900JM20-8CR
Apparently this was designed based on a Casio keyboard from the 80's.

I tried to resist buying another watch this Christmas, but this deal from the deals thread made me do it. $99 for a titanium bracelet PRT-B50YT.

Haven't sized the bracelet yet (looks very easy), but I threw it on a 24mm NATO that's been converted to single pass. Works well in the 23mm lugs.

If I had bought this first, I likely wouldn't have bought the GBA800 a couple of posts up. But oh well. I need to sell some watches.

A note: I wish I wouldn't have to have two different apps for different Casio watches. I now have a G-Shock app and a Protrek app.

Looks great! Earlier today the deal was still live, but now the same listing says $239. Too bad about the separate apps.

If that deal had been a one day only deal I would have been able to resist. I just had that tab sitting there staring at me for a couple of days. Begging me to click on it.

I'd looked at deals on the regular banded versions several times on Amazon, but like the black and white and the bracelet option. I can always buy whatever 23mm band I want, but the bracelets are expensive.

(BTW, the clearance for even this cheap NATO is kind of tight in case anybody's wondering. Don't know if a leather band will work or not. The bracelet is quick release, though.)

Question: How do the (male) G-Shockers out there feel about wearing a Baby-G? THIS CASIO BABY-G BGD140-1A has me thinking about that......partly because it's only $36 from CWS with code BABYG right now. It has a rather subtle "Baby-G" (rather than G-Shock) stamped on the bezel. But it's also 42mm and does not look even remotely "feminine" to me in any way. I certainly don't need another watch, let alone another black digital one. But as someone that thinks most G-Shocks are a bit too big, I'm finding myself thinking about adding this Baby-G to the rotation.
