I don't see it on the US site but there is a new model, the W-737H, up on the Casio international site that looks pretty good to me. I like this dark metallic grey but there is also a black and navy blue model. It looks to be a little bit bigger than a G-Shock square.

So, Mrs. Klaatu3 and I have been watching World's Toughtest Race: Eco-Challenge Fiji on Prime. Pretty good show if you like the adventure-racing genre. Brutal race. Anyway, it looks like all the contestants are wearing a particular Casio watch, but I'm trying to figure out what model. A little help from the hive?..

[Sorry for the blurry screencap]

Looks like a ProTrek to me, but don't recognize it. I know Bear Grylls has a deal with Luminox and has some special edition watches with his name on them.

Wonder if they have restrictions about limiting things like compasses?

EDIT:

Maybe this cheap Casio or similar model: https://www.casio.com/products/watches/ ... gw300h-1av

I pulled the trigger on the Jays and Kays convertible adapters. Quite happy so far. The cool thing is you can use either a 22mm two-piece or a NATO.

Image

To use a 2-piece you are using 4 spring bars. The 16mm to attach the adapters and a set of 22 to attach the strap.

Image

To use a 1-piece you just thread the strap through and just use the 16mm on the adapters.
I wish that watch were 38mm?

So those are true 22mm? The set I have from them for a 6900 are like the Casio ones (or the AliExpress ones) that really fit better with 24mm. But those are the convertible type.

I believe so. The ebay listing says it is made for a 22mm strap (one comes included with the adapters). And looking at how the strap comes out, I don't think a 24mm would fit without bunching. Though I don't have a 24mm to test it.

I was specifically looking for 22mm adapters because 22mm NATOS are much easier to find than 24mm, and I can also use straps on more than one watch.

You may be right about that Casio model, it has many of the same visual features based on brief glimpses shown during the show. And the race teams are shown using only traditional baseplate compasses and maps--so they probably aren't allowed to use compass watches. That's not a minor factor, because navigation errors frequently happen, delaying teams or even causing disqual.

I'd think they'd want something with more than 100m static WR, since the racers spend a LOT of time in water!

But not at depth :) So I'm sure they're fine. Those watches could probably stay under water swimming or paddling in a river for years without failing. There probably get at most 3 meters of depth (if that).

Metal all the G-Shocks. Earlier this year, the 6900's. Now the GM-110's.

Always like wearing this one from Jr. Did not know that there is a blue version and a Green Version.

Blue is incoming for Jrjr; and if I find a good deal on the green one... may just have to pull the trigger. This is probably my favorite G shock.

Casio is reviving its first analog-digital G-Shock with a line-up of resin (AW-500) and full metal (AWM-500) options. I've included details for the more basic resin model but the steel versions are upgraded with a different module (5640) that includes solar charging, atomic time-keeping and more. The AW starts at 13,000 JPY and the AWM at 60,000 JPY.

Guyinwatch welcome to the party.

From googling some it looks like the 5600 you posted is indeed the first carbon core square.

Damn those look like something you'd see in like a retro sci-fi show or comic, particularly the bottom row. I kinda love it, but I don't know if I can see myself even wearing that. I can totally see this guy wearing those though:
