Is WUS blocking the MoT ?

Post by Wolfsatz »

.. not really a question... for inquiring minds... and self explanatory.

https://forums.watchuseek.com/f71/quest ... st51884269

What a childish way to behave starting with what happened last year and now this..... it is a low punch below the belt in my book. I've linked links to MOT multiple times in the past.

MOT:
I wish you would do the necessary adjustments to your IP and make it secure; I cannot access the MOT from work (work computer) because the lack of security. So that is why my activity here is hampered.

I do not have the same problem with WUS... sad to say, but no issues there.

Yes. You can't discuss MoT on WUS. That includes links.
But there's no problem discussing WUS here.

This site is secure.

This site is secured with SSL both for mobile and desktop use.

At work make sure you are going to https instead of http. If that doesn't work,, perhaps your work's filters are too aggressive.

As for WUS...

They added this site's URL to their filter not long after we went live. It's petty, but there is nothing I can do about it.

They can be petty.. but that does not mean that we need to stop being Smart!

Links Removed for Proper WUS Etiquette The bad links are not my fault, it seems that WUS servers are changing the URL address.. perhaps because it is MoT YES the MoT is being blocked by custom code. Way to go WUS.. .first you drive away the best F71 Thread and now you block them.

We are essentially now a competitor (with a superior sponsor). While I don‘t think of it that way and I wish it were different, it is no surprise. Would be like walking into a Burger King and putting up signs for Whataburger.

And all WUS had to do was unlock the HUISABH thread so Mr. MoT could compile his stats. Thank goodness they didn't. This place has evolved into a utopia of watch love and respect the likes of which have never been found on any other fora. Thank you WUS, for making this all possible.

And there is a place for both, and I don't see them as competitors. If anything, they could be great allies. While I still visit both, if push came to shove, I know which flag I am flying.

Me too brother.. but for some reason the DoD network is blocking the MoT domain. Have not tried to properly troubleshoot it yet. otherwise my Horology would be better spent among the brotherhood. F71 just does not feel the same anymore. I've stuck with WUS mostly because of the very active Timex threads... but they are getting like a dejavu.

I also visit both. I always go "awwww" when I see a MoT member's post on WUS. Like bumping into a friend or acquaintance at a concert unexpectedly? I am weird. 8-)

I would recommend you don't, unless you are looking to be banned over there.

I may know where there is an 80x80 avatar sized logo. 🤔

Like TheJohnP said, that may be too much of a poke for the bear.
