As you may have noticed, we we're offline this morning. This was caused by the "Thanks" plug-in going rogue and using up way too many server resources. This triggered an automatic suspension by our hosting provider as they thought it was a malicious attack. The "Thanks" plug-in has been disabled, hopefully temporarily so I can determine if that was indeed the cause, and take steps to prevent it from happening in the future.

I apologize for the disruption and for any confusion that may have caused.

Never had a Borealis. Is the consensus that they're worth retail?
I'll say that all of mine are of consistently great build quality and finishing (though I haven't bought one in a couple years, I don't have any reason to suspect quality has gone downhill). They also hold their value quite well, possibly because they're made in batches and once they're gone they're gone unless they do a rare re-issue. There are often preowned models on sale at eBay for their retail prices or higher, especially the rarer models like the Estoril. You generally won't find one below retail unless it's used and not a very sought-after model. That's just my experience.

You made the correct choice. Hesalite/acrylic is the proper material for tool watch crystals. 8-)
you must have some decently deep pockets to consider a Speedy a "tool watch" :P

plus, since they don't do the "hesalite sandwich" anymore (and they have skyrocketed in price for some reason in 2020), i'd rather get the nice display back 'cause i consider a much greater sacrilege to hide that nice looking manual wind chrono movement under a closed back.

If that were even remotely true, I'd own one. ;)

Direnzo announced their newest model today, the DRZ 04 Mondial. https://direnzowatches.com/drz-04-mondial/
Pre-orders begin March 20 or 21 (both dates are on the website) with delivery expected in June. Pre-order price for standard models will be ~$620USD. The meteorite dial will be $820. Retail pricing will be $799/$960 respectively.

It's a winner in my opinion. I'd prefer a non-integrated bracelet but it's still very, very tempting. Genta-inspired design without being derivative with Direnzo's signature bowl-shaped dial and quality. Color-matched date wheels on all models and just look at that radial gray dial. There will be no no-date models available.

Case material: 316L with scratch resistance coating (HV 800)
Crystal: sapphire with anti-reflective coating
Water resistant: 10atm
Diameter without crown: 40mm
Lug to lug: 48mm
Height: 11.9mm (Including sapphire)
Case back: screw down with sapphire crystal
Movement: automatic: Sellita SW-200-1 Elaboré with incabloc shock protection system
Dial: Matte (white and meteorite) or sunburst fumé with applied indices

I'll do a full post in the preorders thread, but more pics since Sussa beat me to the post.

Honestly not too impressed by this model myself. Looks more like a Hamtun meets Genta than a Direnzo meets Genta. Oh well.

Doesn't look bad for $100. Cheap way to add a splash of color to the collection. The case looks interesting too with the squared corners. I'm not going to bite, but I kinda like the green one.

Isotope Watches will be launching their latest model on preorder in the next few days.
No word yet on pricing, but this won't be going to Kickstarter. This will be available direct from Isotope.

https://isotopewatches.com/

The Isotope GMT 0° Black - a tribute to the Greenwich Meridian (0° longitude).

Image

After a year in development, the new GMT 0° is the first watch ever to use these two complications together: the date dot integrated in the dial and the second hour on a rotating central disc.

Image

With a 41.5mm x 39.5mm case in Stainless Steel and with a Swisstech calibre S24-045 movement, the GMT 0° is a breakthrough from an independent British watch brand where originality and passion work together to create one of the most exciting GMT watches ever.

Just saw this on the Boldr site. Boldr X Kenji Chai collab 'Chaigo'. If it wasnt for the price ($499), this would already be on order for me as I love the colors used. I would likely swap the bracelet to a NATO or rubber though.

A new metal G-Shock, this time in IP coated red (although it looks more Maroon from the real-life photos I've seen). $600 in the US, full metal case and bracelet. It has a negative display which normally isn't as legible, but these metal g-shocks have a much better negative display over the regular ones.

I've been tracking the rollout across Asia and Europe, and I'm glad it's coming to the US and won't be a limited edition here. If it had been limited I know I'd be dropping full MSRP, but now I'm inclined to wait and see if I can get it for a good discount from somewhere.
