I've only seen Zeno or DEKLA able to shove a Unitas into a 40mm case.
Tourby does it as well (and i think i've seen others). Though Tourby (who are significantly smaller than Laco) also offer some fancied up Unitases in their pieces, while Laco apparently does the bare minimum on a watch limited to 95 pieces meant to be a milestone towards celebrating 100 years of existence. pretty disappointing, honestly

Also, that white date wheel with that "cream" lume on those Seiko Laurels is... ungainly, unsightly, and pretty damn ugly! :?

I was wondering why I wasn't familiar with Tourby.
Then I looked through the site and saw the pricing.
Now I know.

Beautiful offerings, but jinkees. Way out of my price range.

New Oris Aquis GMT announced, this time inspired by the whale shark.

Price seems a little on the high side to me, but that dial is ace.

Tissot recently announced the PRX, a new integrated bracelet sports watch (40mm x 10.4mm, quartz) that’s available for pre-order for $375. Three colorways available.

Looks decent. Word has it there are automatics with black or blue textured dials coming later this year. I find it a bit odd that the bracelet shows a quick release mechanism in the videos yet I don't see any available options for straps.
Some images of the Tissot PRX automatic models coming this summer. 40mm with the ETA Powermatic 80 / C07.111 movement.

And some models that are available for purchase now. Four new Tissot Heritage Visodate Powermatic 80 references. Similar to the most recent quartz Visodate with its twisted lugs.

Just saw this Junghans Worldtimer reviewed on Fratello: https://www.fratellowatches.com/hands-o ... -43010-02/ It was supposedly launched around Dec 2020 but I don't think I have seen it mentioned here. I like it a lot, but the white on grey numerals might make it difficult to see for some folks. As an owner of a worldtimer myself, it's a fun complication especially for a wanderlust or a daydreamer. 40mm is reasonable for a worldtimer, but just like most Junghans, it will wear larger due to the thin bezel. If you compare specs, the Farer Worldtimer might seem a better dial but if you prefer Junghans' more minimalist aesthetics, then I still think it's not bad at €1,690 and I know you can get around 25% off an ADs at the right time of the year.

By the way, some people say a GMT is not a true GMT without a date. I don't see a date here, which helps balance out the dial and its elements nicely, but is it weird? Maybe they sacrificed the date to enable adjustment of the 24-hr disc using the main crown (the ETA in the Farer Worldtimer has a second crown that solely controls the 24-hr disc)? Just a thought.

Not sure if this is a new release or something that somehow slipped under the radar from Timex. I know, I know, the design is certainly not going to fly under anyone's radar, but for some reason its not the most hideous thing I've ever seen. Paging ManOnTime this has everything you want in one watch!

Thanks for sharing, I too like to see more NE* movements in the wild but, NE* (which is not that outrageously expensive of a movement), stainless steel, 3ATM, and a dial design that is at a quick glance pretty illegible = $4k?

(After seeing other pictures, it is easier to read. My other points remain.)

What am I missing?

Kurono is a *more* accessible brand of Japanese indy watchmaker Hajime Asaoka, whose main line starts at $25,000. Similar to the SUF brand by Finnish watchmaker Stepan Sarpaneva. Some high-end indy aficionados are willing to pay a premium to get a piece designed/produced by the same watchmaker, albeit with lower-end components, especially if they can’t afford the main line (or don’t want to wait for one to be produced, which can take years).

As someone who owns a Yema with this same case, those male end links are going to be problematic for smaller wrists. I wonder why they made that choice.
