I always set it in between minute markers in that case. So in between 1:30 and 1:31 for example when the seconds hand hits 6:00. Seems to work out.

No, the gear train doesn't operate like that.

Stupid question: why do open heart watches get so little love? Like with Presage watches. It feels like: closed dial, yes; open heart, no.

For me, it distracts from the dial and there's no need for it. I'd much rather have the whole dial. Case in point, I would buy this if it weren't an open heart.

I suspect that they feel a little too close to skeleton watches. And skeleton watches seem to be so overly represented in cheap and fashion watches.

People think date Windows upset dial symmetry and refuse to buy them. And date windows serve a purpose. Open hearts throw symmetry out the window. I'll watch the balance from the back thank you very much.

Strangely, The only ones I like are the Hamiltons. The design, while crazy, feels less like an afterthought than watches with just a hole cut in the dial.

I am probably ovethinking it.

Also, it might be that the cutout reminds me of Laguna Seca. Again. Over thinking it[emoji23]

It does kinda look like Laguna Seca. The Andretti Hairpin is sooooo fun by the way. Turns 2-4 is my favorite portion of the track.
