Re: Unusual complications and features
This is a weird Hamilton I did not discover until today. A two-faced auto chrono. Think JLC Reverso Duo but weirder.
One side is a chrono:

The other side is a pulsometer & tachymeter

And it flips:

On sale for $2500 from Joma: https://www.jomashop.com/hamilton-watch-h32866781.html

The Glycine Airman 7 Plaza Mayor allows you to track four different time zones on one watch. This 53mm square hunk of metal features 3 automatic movements including an ETA 2893 and 2 ETA 2671s. Beware of service costs.

Re: Unusual complications and features
There is a watch from the 1960's called the MinStop that I think falls into this category. It first came to my attention while listening to The Grey NATO podcast. The MinStop was produced by Buren, Stowa, Vulcain and any number of other brands. The movement in the MinStop is called the Durowe 471-4. It is a German manual-wind movement with a fly-back stopwatch function. The stopwatch function is always running but there is a single pusher that can reset the stopwatch back to zero, where it immediately starts timing again. The rotating stopwatch wheel seen in the window on the upper part of the dial is made to resemble a parking meter. And the intended purpose of the watch is to be able to easily track how long you've been parked at a meter so you can avoid a ticket. Put more money in the meter, hit the pusher to keep track on your MinStop. I pretty sure I could find multiple other uses for it throughout the day too. Oh.....and it looks cool!

Thanks. Now there is ANOTHER watch I didn't know I needed. I never even park in metered spots, but love the idea/look of this watch.yinzburgher wrote:There is a watch from the 1960's called the MinStop that I think falls into this category. That's a new one to me. Very cool. Would have been handy for timing long distance phone calls too.yinzburgher wrote: ↑Wed Jul 10, 2019 10:10 pm There is a watch from the 1960's called the MinStop that I think falls into this category. Re: Unusual complications and features
Just a couple on ebay:
$769 for one where the reset button is broken:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vulcain-MinSto ... Swgbdb-ae9
$160 but "needs repair"
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Buren- ... SwoF5czmIa
And $735 for one that is supposedly fully functional but ships from Japan and kinda reads like an RGM listing:

Re: Unusual complications and features
The guy selling the $160 Buren says he's been told the cannon pinion is loose. It would probably explain the problems and it would be a pretty easy fix--the cannon pinion sits on the very top of the movement, so it would only take a few screws to get at it. A cannon pinion tightener would cost extra, but certainly not $600 extra. That being said, the problem could be something much more devious. Caveat emptor.
