Preface, there's still a few vintage pieces floating about that aren't represented here, nor is the talking atomic watch that I got for the Leap Year watch challenge. Otherwise, this is as comprehensive as it gets for a SOTC from me.

A few of these I have plans to sell off, included the Melbourne Portsea Heritage which isn't pictured.
Also, feel dumb that I can no longer recall the model names for all my vintage Hamiltons. Apologies for that.

Collection split between a 20 piece watch box and a couple of "closet caddy" hanging jewelry holders that I picked up at an estate sale.

Amazing collection my man! Thanks for taking the time to document it. Also, big thanks for making me feel less weird about being in the 50+ watch club.

One of the beauties of this hobby is how little square footage it takes up. Also, the resale value(if you follow HUISABH and buy smart!). Compared to a previous hobby of modding cars(flushing money down the toilet yet still immensely enjoyable) watches just make sense!

I love that red Orion. Such a great unique collection. Very few mainstream pieces in there which is always refreshing to see.

Is one of your Sinns on a Parnis jubilee? If so, how is that working. I have my eye on that model Sinn and I have a Parnis oyster with the knockoff glidelock and it isn't terrible.

Yup the 556i is on the parnis 20mm jubilee. It fits pretty well with the watch case, but I think I had to use springbars from my seiko alpinist for a closer fit. I prefer both 556 models on leather but really they wear well on anything.

I decided last January that I would use each new year as a time to ‘formally’ document my SOTC. So without further ado, here is the official team photo for 2021...

Image

Of these 11 pieces, only 5 of them were in last years photo (posted below). 2020 was the year when I started to sell the ones I just wasn’t wearing or connecting with. Those were some tough decisions but so far no regrets.

Three of the watches in this current collection (the Zodiac Super Sea Wolf, Bulova Surfboard & Wolbrook Chrono) were acquired within the last 6 weeks thanks to a few unexpected opportunities arising for me to acquire them at great prices. Overall, I’m getting much more satisfied with my collection but anticipate some more movement over the course of the year. I could see 2-5 of these pieces being sold to make room for something new. I am excited to see how the collection continues to evolve.

For the sake of comparison, here is the 2020 team:

Happy new year, everyone!

My goal is to bring it down to only one:

It’s 1 year to the day that I posted my SOTC, so I thought I’d update with what came and went, and what I'm looking to pick up this year if I'm lucky. BTW, my Jan 2020 collection was spread over 5 posts starting here: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=360&start=45#p48942

Gone from this time last year, but not forgotten:
1. Tissot Antimagnetique 1952 Cal 27
2. Certina DS-4 Small seconds C022.428.11.031.00
3. Citizen Blue BN0151
4. G-Shock GXW-56BB-1JF Ninja King (JDM version)
5. Hamtun Kraken H2 Titanium
6. Seiko Flightmaster SNA411
No regrets yet. Enjoyed all of them, but had to move on.

In last year's post I had four aspirational pickups for 2020:
- Rolex Explorer 214270
- Omega Seamaster 300MC
- Tudor GMT
- G-Shock Titanium

I kinda picked up 2 of the 4:
- Omega 1957 trilogy Seamaster 300 234.10.39.20.01.001
- G-Shock Titanium GMWB5000TB-1
I’m still on the waitlist at the AD for the Explorer...

Some fun watches I added in 2020:
- Zodiac Grandhydra quartz ZO9951
- G-Shock pink G-Lide GLX-5600VH-4
- Armitron gold Griffy
- Bulova Accutron II Snorkel 96B210, which I turned around and sold as it was just too big for my wrist.
Plus, I did buy some inexpensive vintage Bulova and Timex pieces that I plan to pull apart to play with at some point.

Here's what the watch boxes look like now (sorry for the crappy photos):

Some of my aspirational list for this year, somewhat in order:
- Rolex Explorer 214270 (before Rolex update this to 41mm)
- Grand Seiko SBGW231 white dial, manual wind, 37mm https://www.grand-seiko.com/us-en/collections/sbgw231g
- Grand Seiko SBGN003 black dial, GMT, quartz 39mm https://www.grand-seiko.com/us-en/collections/sbgn003g
- Tudor BB58 blue 39mm
- G-Shock GMW-B5000RD-4 Red metal square https://www.gshock.com/watches/digital/gmwb5000rd-4
- Christopher Ward C65 Super Compressor blue https://www.christopherward.com/int/ret ... B0-B0.html
- Oris Big Crown pointer date. Undecided on the green, blue or red dial, and need to try it on to see if 36mm or 40mm would be best
- Seiko SPB153 Green Willard (or maybe SPB143)

I certainly won’t be buying all of these, but hopefully I get a couple of the nicer ones. My two watch boxes are full, even after selling some recently, so anything I buy will force more sales. This is the bit I don’t enjoy, but rotating through 25 slots is too many as it is.

So, which 5 watches from my collection would you sell to make room for more? I’d love to hear someone else’s opinion.
