* Once you activate the lume, it remains lit as long as you continue operating the watch. Like duh, all LCD watches with lume should do this. But they don't (lookin' at you, G-Shock)!
* Each alarm has a different tune. This has two upsides: 1) you know which alarm is going off, if you care, 2) you can choose an alarm tune that's more pleasing/wakeful than the others.
Other things I like: large display, verbose set/adjust interface, ability to disable features (e.g. occasion, alarms), good readability, velcro strap allows me to attach it to something other than my wrist (e.g. fanny pack) w/o fear of its falling off.
Things that could be improved: remove the fake screw heads from the bezel, add pusher guards.
Even though I obsess over G-Shocks, I rely on my Timex LCD watches.
While I love the ability to disable features, the thing that I wish Timex would do is to have the current time displayed in every mode. The main function of a watch is to tell the time and it is really handy to have that time always on, even if you are using the Chrono or countdown timer as the main function. Casio seems to get this, come on Timex.
Anyone have the automatic Marlin or the Todd Snyder version? I've been kinda thinking of getting one... if I can find a great deal.

I think maybe after these watches have been around longer, we may see better deals. For right now, the best price I know of is at Watches.com. The automatic Marlins are $200 with the code COMEBACK20.

If they're going to use this case and bracelet design, consider me VERY interested.

Yea, pretty much. I think if they presented this on 4/1 as an April Fools joke, it would have gone over just fine. But stringing people along for days or weeks in a seemingly exciting build-up that resulted in nothing; that's different and won't be viewed well. I'm guessing they got a lot of new people on their email list though so they will consider it a win.

I know some people cite loud ticking as a reason they will never buy another Timex. I can't recall ever having a big problem with this but I may just have been lucky. Anyway, I was surprised to see them say they are working on the problem in a review for a watch on their site.
We are pleased that you got a Timex watch to replace the weekender that you've had for five years.. However, we also feel bad that it did not meet your expectations due to its loud ticking. The ticking on the watch depends on several factors like the size and the materials used in making the watch and its movement. We understand that it can be loud especially when in a closed room. Our Quality control team has been made aware of this issue for some of our watches that has a loud ticking sound. They are currently in the process of finding a solution to lower or tone down the ticking sound of the watch without affecting the movement. We may not be able to cater to your needs at this time, but rest assured that we have been doing our best to resolve this issue. We thank you again for leaving this review!
