Rambling mini-review of Cward C60 Sapphire.
While no watch expert, and having been in the hobby for a relatively short period of time, thoughts on this watch are of a less critical nature than your typical review.
I'll start by saying that I only purchase watches (to wear) if they are aesthetically pleasing to me in person or in photos from the internets, but in general wind up flipping everything. I also can be found browsing the bookstore and literally choosing a book based on it's cover. I came across Chuck Palahniuk and quite a few other authors this way. I will always finish a book and I usually find a reason to like a watch i purchased, unless it is solely for flipping.
I felt comfortable going all in (-170 AUD + conversion savings) on the C60 Sapphire because I am happy with my C65 bronze trident. It arrived yesterday as I was leaving the house so i posted the above pictures. I couldn't wait to get home and play with it. Although, all i could really do would be set the date and time and adjust the bracelet.
The movement is an SW200-1, visible through the front and back. Great or not great, i don't really care. I prefer 28800 bph and this is what the Sellita does. The rotor is finished with the Cward "Colimaçoné".

Next, the bracelet. I am a bracelet guy. The clasp is a bit on the longer side for my taste, but wait, it has a slide micro-adjustment, so any negatives are outweighed, excepting that i didn't get to get my watch tools out and adjust the bracelet. My opinion, my review, until this thing fails, I'll believe all bracelets should be quick-release. Picking at nits, i may see some questionable brushing on the endlinks. But my final analysis was already written before i received the watch.
The bezel. I have no astute opinions on 'bezel-action'. It is unidirectional, 120 clicks and makes a ratcheting sound that may or may not be pleasing to somebody. The detail is nice. The decompression 15 minutes is luminous and covered with the same blue from between the sapphire layers in the dial, giving it a slightly different color (blueish!) than the rest of the lume. The lume could last longer, but i only need it to last until I go to sleep.

The coin edge looks really smart on this and the detailing on the bezel is thumbs up.

The case and crown offer fine details as well. Two lines of polish running lug to lug down the sides sandwiching the brushed bits. Raised Cward logo on the crown.

My measurements differ slightly from the CWard website. 13.6mm thick. 46.5mm lug to lug. 39.75mm case w/o crown, 43.6 with.
The watch wears small, I guess. The thickness is about as much as i can tolerate, but it comes with 600m of water resistance. The screws in the dial are not lined up, but they were put in by hand. And BillionaireDoors would not be pleased with the hand lengths.
I will most likely end up enjoying this watch more and more with each passing day. I have ordered a hybrid strap from Cward just to try this guy on it.
And although this is not a dress watch per se, it is one for me. But I know i can throw it on the strap and take to the pool or beach. I already beat up my C65 bronze, so I'll probably baby this fella and never wear it to work (kitchen).
I am not a Chris Ward fan boy by any means. I also disliked Seiko until I suddenly wound up with about 6 over the last 3 months. Patterns are emerging and I am discovering what aspects of a watch i enjoy. Thin. water resistance of 200m+. Details in case, dial and bezel that warrant second and third glances. Well made bracelets. This watch has most of that.
Thanks for reading.
