Re: Incoming! What have you got in the mail?
I've long griped about Timex diluting their history just to chase a buck (ahem, Todd Snyder and all the Timex x branding BS), but I just had to get this one.
I absolutely love the vintage diver looks, and I'm pleased it's a stainless case and a rotating bezel. Normally a push-pull crown would bother me, but for some reason, it doesn't on this.

I'm a big Timex fan. Would love to hear some opinions/see pics when this arrives for you! Congrats!ManOnTime wrote: ↑Thu Oct 24, 2019 10:49 am I've long griped about Timex diluting their history just to chase a buck (ahem, Todd Snyder and all the Timex x branding BS), but I just had to get this one.

Re: Incoming! What have you got in the mail?
I've gone over a month without buying a new watch, which is good, but I'm reaching the place where I don't really want to part with anything I already have, which is a bit concerning as I don't want the collection to get out of hand lol.
Regardless, I got this for a pretty low price, and barring any expensive movement problems (which from the seller's timing accuracy test seems unlikely), I'm excited to get this one! Orient World Time, I believe 1980's vintage.

Since I ended up returning the Louis Erard, figure I needed another relatively unknown brand in my watch box.
So backing the Kickstarter for the Antone Tavan 1805 montre Jour/Nuit, aka Day/Night Watch. And leaning towards this colorway.

First thoughts: huh, interesting... unusual, like that... that blue dial texture is really cool... what the heck is going on with that seconds hand?

Not going to lie, that handset feels like something from a Kirkland's. But I'm still really digging the overall aesthetics.
And this will probably be the closest I'll get to a boutique/haute horlogerie piece considering my cheapskate budget parameters.

Brought 3 watches in 2 days.
It'll be my first Rolex. Price was right so I pulled the trigger. The speedy will have to wait.
Still waiting on confirmation from cward but got these two incoming as well.

Damn homie! Congratulations!!! Very excited for you and can't wait to see the pics when they arrive. The speedy will still be around and at a similar price. When you find a Rolex deal, you jump on it. You did the right thing IMO.whoagorgeous wrote:Brought 3 watches in 2 days.

It's also essentially what I would go for if I could, except I'd probably do steel with a gold bezel/crown.

It's really unique and different, and that's a real breath of fresh air in a hobby where everyone owns or wants to own the same 5 boring watches or homages thereof. I am excited to see you post some wrist shots.

It's in.
Initial impression: Very good for the price paid. Bezel is 120 clicks and crisp with no real lash-back, finishing is definitely a step up from what Timex usually does (and they usually do a good job anyway), the strap is very soft and smells fantastic. The hands and markers are lumed as well. Movement hand-winds but does not hack. Crown is unsigned, and push-pull.
