Can't say I've had the brew, but I love their old panorama signs. Fond memories as a kid eating burgers at the bar with my old man, watching this sign roll around:

Re: Watches and Beverages. Show what you got!
It's Easter, so I'm raising a mug of cocoa to all the chocolate rabbits out there. Confession: I drink this stuff all the time w/o sugar or milk, just cocoa powder and hot water. I love it. But to prove my tough guy creds, I also enjoy good stout and ouzo (just very rarely any more). The fact I drink my cocoa out of a jar, I suppose, is harder to justify

It's really no better than any other mass produced lager. I like it because of the local connection, and because it's inexpensive.
Really, that's the keyword. It's inexpensive, but it's not cheap if that makes sense. It's a great summertime hanging out outdoors beer.
(And to shore up my "beer snob" chops, my other favorite summer beer is this: http://bauhausbrewlabs.com/blog/2018/ge ... t-pants-on)

+1 for the local brew. Shiner is the mass produced brew of Texas, esp. their bock. Texas has some legit German roots. When I lived in Boston I drank Sam Adams. Funny thing is that it tasted better in Boston than in California -- fresher, I guess. IMO, Sierra Nevada is the west coast choice, though I'll gladly concede to better educated palettes (i.e., anybody, lol).ManOnTime wrote: ↑Sat Apr 20, 2019 4:28 pmBostonCharlie wrote: ↑Sat Apr 20, 2019 2:51 pmCan't say I've had the brew, but I love their old panorama signs. Shiner is great stuff! My favorite mass-produced (now) beer. Drank it growing up in Big D and Austin...love it to this day.BostonCharlie wrote: ↑Sat Apr 20, 2019 6:41 pm+1 for the local brew. Now enjoying a beer from Braindead Brewing in Dallas. The lady and I are enjoying last day of "vacation" before flying back to NYC tomorrow.

Finishing off what's left of an impulse buy. Not terrible but I won't be getting it again.

Saw it was on tap at my local beer shop. I hate ciders so didn't try it, but had never heard of it before.yinzburgher wrote:Finishing off what's left of an impulse buy. Not terrible but I won't be getting it again.

Worth a try if you want something sweet. I would have been happier to buy 1 can instead of 6.Bbrou33 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 28, 2019 9:31 amSaw it was on tap at my local beer shop. I don't drink coffee as often as I used to, but when I do I make espresso with Peet's coffee. Toasted bagel with cream cheese off camera. Confession: I cleaned my espresso pot for the shot

Is that a G-Shock size espresso cup?BostonCharlie wrote:I don't drink coffee as often as I used to, but when I do I make espresso with Peet's coffee. Toasted bagel with cream cheese off camera. Confession: I cleaned my espresso pot for the shot
