Well see how it goes, there is still some work to be done; obviously.

Someone on WUS posted a "how to/ DIY" for making a bezel retention spring, so some 24AWG "spring tempered" stainless steel is on the way. I got several pieces, that way, I'll have plenty to keep trying lol.

Here's hoping for some success 🙂

Vostok has arrived!

Quickly unpacked it, looks great! Waiting in the stainless wire to arrive.

Thanks Matt (note and sticker are top notch stuff!) & Anonymous!

ManOnTime wrote:Thanks to a generous offer by a member that would like to wish to remain anonymous, I have a bunch of watches and straps to give away.

Most will be done via this thread, but a few will be offered in the coming days in a separate thread. Many will be free or through donation to the site.

All of the watches and straps are in very good condition, and only a couple have minor issues, those are below.

To give away, two Vostoks. Both are in very good condition but have bezel issues. I believe the wire springs are missing. There is Scotch tape holding the bezels on at the moment so they don't get lost.

First come, first served. I'll cover the shipping unless you are outside the US.

My “Dude” arrived safe and sound... thanks to Matt for the quick shipping and nice card, and to Anonymous for making the generous donation.

My contributions to the PIF thread will be posted momentarily.

A few random items up for grabs...

A: Gently used navy/white/orange nato, polished hardware [20mm]

B: Brand new desert camo nato, polished hardware [22mm]

C: Kreisler branded genuine snake skin strap, gold tone hardware [5/8"; 16mm]

D: Speidel Express genuine leather strap [18mm]

E: 34mm "frankenstein" Pobeda Zim dial hand winder with small seconds. Consider this a project watch. It runs and winds smoothly but seems to be gaining a minute or two per day. I bought this on eBay in the early days of my watch journey, from India I believe. Comes on a cheap 18mm nato that I shortened and heat-sealed.

PM me if interested. First come, first served. I'll cover the shipping unless you are outside the US.

All before have covered shipping within the US, but there is no hard and fast rule...it is entirely up to the poster.

In the spirit of paying it forward, if anyone would like one of these, I'll reimburse the shipping.

A non-watch related item here, but hopefully someone here can have some fun with it.

I received a Secret Santa gift of "The Jackbox Party Pack 3". It's collection of party games that run on the steam platform.

A fun gift for sure, and a retail value of $25. But honestly I won't use it, and I'd rather pass it onto to someone here who might enjoy it.

If you interested, send me a PM and I'll send you a link to the download and the license key.

Also not a watch, but watch related.

Backstory: had a brass caliper for years and then sometime last year I couldn't find it. Looked just about everywhere with no luck. So bought another one. Cleaning out the guest bedroom over the holidays and guess what I found?

So don't need two of these.
Offering up to anyone who could use it.
PM me if interested.

4" brass pocket caliper by Empire.
Measures in both metric and inches.

I have same exact ones, DO NOT be tempted to use them on watches: the sharp edges WILL scratch the case/crystal (I put mine in the garage and I use plastic one instead).

I find scotch tape works to protect any watches with concern of scratching. But I mostly used on older vintage watches, so they just add more "character" ;)
