Case Size on a 6.5 inch wrist

Post by Stretch44 »

Hey all, question for all the WIS's out there. I have a 6.5 wrist, anyone have any idea what a 34mm or 35mm case would like? I've only ever had 40mm and up?

It does depend on you wrist shape, but they look fine on me. Let me see what kind of vintage watches I have around...

I was thinking on the Max bill in either 34mm or 35mm. The 38mm would be my preference, but the price of the smaller case is much more in my wheelhouse.

Thanks, just checked my wrist and it's exactly 2" flat on top. I think I may be able to pull it off.

34 will be no problem for you at all and will look great. Especially a Max Bill -- they are all dial, so they appear larger than they are.

I follow the rule of not liking the lugs to hang over my wrist. SInce I have a 6.75 and can't really like to go over 50 lug-to-lug. Likely most watches over 40mm are too big for you under that rule. [grumpy] Most watches are too big nowadays. Get off my lawn. [/grumpy]
I wish that watch were 38mm?

Thanks to both. I think I'll go with the 34mm Max Bill.

It should be mentioned that the quartz Max Bill is 38mm and cheaper than both the auto and the manual. I'd probably still go with the 34 since part of this hobby is often paying more for a less accurate watch. But if you are really concerned on size it is an option.

But oh the vintage glory that is to be had for the dedicated few.

I found another watch that is 34mm, but 40 L2L vs 37 on the max bill. I can snap a pic in a bit if you like.

After very quickly looking here is a hand wind for $545:

https://www.amazon.com/Junghans-Hand-wi ... s_wa_1_vtp

That's a decent price, but you can find them lower if you are patient.

Also, if you can stretch a little, TOM has this black auto for $680. Sometimes worth to save/stretch to get what you really want.

I thought about the quartz. I know if I did buy the quartz I'd always regret not getting a hand-wind or auto, so it's a no go.

This was the watch I was looking at. I have gift card at amazon, so I've got to get there. In researching them online, I'm pretty comfortable with the price, especially since I have a gift card.
