Guys, I'm happy to report that Sdelka's polish chapter is now on! I just picked up the shipment from Animal Mother minutes ago, so this quick pic (by my window) will have to do for now. Anyway I'll keep you updated!

Sdelka says that Poland is very boring, she does not get out much has not seen any landmarks.
She says its like being in Greece all over again.
She misses the rays down in africa.

Apologies if it looks that way. I've been super super busy with work assignments, and to make one proper post with pictures and descriptions I'd need a solid two hours - which currently I don't have.tjcdas wrote:Sdelka says that Poland is very boring, she does not get out much has not seen any landmarks.

But it's not like I totally neglected Sdelka though. I keep bringing her everywhere and occasionally take a pic. Will update... soon

As a Minnesotan and a Vikings fan, there are a lot of jokes there, but I'm going to be diplomatic and leave them unsaid.

You can take me off the list (or put me at the end). Not a lot of free time now - end of year.

OK, that looks good. I will send along enough MoT keychains so that there will be one for each of those that come after me. I am still planning on the caseback painting, so that will be fun.Dub Rubb wrote:Updated list:

Re: The Traveling Komandirskie. Who wants it?
Finally... got to sit down and wrote up all of Sdelka's Polish adventures. Again, apologies that it took so long - turns out the last warm days of fall were the busiest for me.
Since I received Sdelka in mid October she became my only watch and pretty much didn't leave my wrist. I wasn’t quite expecting this, but due to some circumstances at work I was able to take her outside of my town and travel a little bit. She proved to be a reliable companion and quite comfortable to wear too.
We start off in the very heart of Warsaw, at the (in)famous Patelnia crossing (literally Frying Pan). It’s a major point in the city, where subway lines, bus stops and train stations meet, which makes it always a busy place. Maybe not so busy on the picture, just trust me it gets worse in the afternoon. In the summertime, because of the location (slightly below street level) and number of people, it can get really hot here - hence the name Frying Pan.
Just a few minutes away is the Palace of Culture and Science, built in mid 50s as a gift to Polish nation from the friendly communist regime of Soviet Russia. A gift, which obviously means we had to build it and pay for it by ourselves. It’s still the tallest building in Poland and today it serves as a multi museums-cinemas-theaters-exhibitions-art galleries-trade shows center.
Here it is how it looks inside, one of the many huge rooms. All finished in marble and wood.
A fountain in front of it.
This is what you might call “the modern downtown”, with some tall(ish) skyscrapers, office buildings and so on.
Time to move a little. Cold foggy morning and hopping on a train to Cracow, probably the most popular city among foreign tourists.
Quick lunch before work.
And after that, a short walk through the Old Town and Market Square. Unfortunately I didn’t have much time to walk around.
Back in Warsaw, walking through another part of town. This place is called the Warsaw Uprising Square.
This is the Prudential building, from the early 30s, one of the very few that somewhat survived the war, although severely damaged (see photo). Today it’s a luxury hotel.
One of the weekends. Nice warm day, great for a walk in the park.
Old chocolate factory in the background, still operational.
Warsaw Moto Show, a big annual car expo. I had a job assignment there and took a moment to check out Jaguar offerings and fell in love with that vivid orange.
Just last week I was traveling for work again, this time far south, to Sudetes mountain range. Super busy as usual, so not too many pics. Managed to capture some autumn colors.
Back home. My kitty was curious to see if this thing is edible.
And final shot with her bigger brother, Steve Z.
That’s all folks! Thanks for making this happen, was a fun adventure. Sdelka says she’s ready to go back to her American homeland! I’ll message Wolfsatz and arrange the shipping.
