I'll agree.
As the 8 is more prominent in that window, that design works.

It’s more of a novelty than a distraction so I like it.

Unfortunately more and more I'm feeling this is is probably all true. I don't notice any big problems with mine but I tend to only wear a watch for a day or two before switching. But there seem to be a ton of people on the forums reporting problems with 6r15 that nobody seems to have with the cheaper 4r35 and 4r36. I remember seeing a watchmaker servicing one on youtube and saying that there was no lubricant on some parts of the movement and then little globs of it elsewhere. I hope Seiko gets this all sorted out.

Yep. Or if they had made it a single date window, no outline, black background, white text (and NO arrow). I would have bought the deal the other day had they done that.

Dials with cut-off numerals. Looks like the sub-dials were an after-thought and they couldn't be bothered to re-design with a simple index.

Christopher Ward's 9 o'clock logo, font and justification of "being disruptive". (This one, I'll admit, is more because I like a lot of their new designs and quality but can't get over the logo, so I irrationally feel frustrated by the whole thing.)

I love quartz for accuracy but the seconds hand never hits the seconds markers annoys me too much to own beyond the 3 that I have currently. Are there quartz watches that do actually hit all the seconds markers correctly or perhaps maybe Bulovas with 262khz sweeping seconds are good option?

Bulova works.
Other options include: no second hand, and sub dial second.

-watches in which the minute hand jumps when you push in the crown.
-date windows in wildly different fonts from the dial.

An hour on Ebay reminded me of another one..watches from Indian sellers. Too many obviously repainted dials, counterfeit Citizens, frankenwatches, and “Oris” watches with FHF movements.

Peeves me that no one seems to make stadium dials anymore.

A couple more...

1) Watch bands that have been “notched” to fit a smaller lug width. My Lorus came this way, with a 20mm strap notched to fit the 18mm lug width.
2) Leather bands missing the second loop to hold the end. I seem to be amassing a collection of otherwise pristine straps.

Watches with integrated straps or bracelets that you can only get from the manufacturer.

I have two watches with that "feature". I really like the design of my Victorinox chronograph and how the bezel flows into and is a part of the case (really, there is no bezel). But when the rubber dried out and I had to replace the strap, I had difficulty finding one, and it is only made by Victorinox. I have a watch with a bracelet that is also integrated and cannot be replaced with a strap. I won't buy another watch like this, which is why I'll never but an Oris Aquis even though I like them.

I've passed on so many watches because of the stupid proprietary straps.
