I included PVD but am wondering why DLC isn’t more common on better watches wanting a black case and bracelet look. DLC seems more common on knives, but watches take a beating also.

I also like matte finish, or whatever the cheap Seiko SNK8xx comes with. I think more inexpensive Seikos would come this way if the Japanese didn’t seem to equate shiny shiny chrome with “luxury,” an attribute a $100 or less watch doesn’t need to reflexively attempt IMO. (Timex seems to understand this better.)

Sorry for the tangent, but the SNK8xx case (and the predecessor models) does seem to be an anomaly for the brand.

I’m a bead blast fan. Always have liked them. I wanted, and never bought, the Zixen bead blasted diver with the Unitas hand winder.
