Re: The END of Star Wars
The END of Star Wars-not until every penny has been squeezed out of the series.
At least 3 more trilogy series over the next decade, maybe a movie every year for the next 50 years.

I just came home from watching it with my son. We liked it. No spoilers from me.

Disney's "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker" Shows the Force Has Weakened
So end result is a failed film?
.https://www.fool.com/investing/2019/12/ ... -weak.aspxThe franchise's final installment of the Skywalker saga is a box office disappointment on opening weekend.

Seems to be doing just fine according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Re: The END of Star Wars
In strictly financial terms the film is a disappointment. We're talking about a near billion dollar film taking in 65% of less than $200 million so far.TheJohnP wrote: ↑Tue Dec 24, 2019 3:40 pmFrom a certain point of view.Spirit of the Watch wrote: ↑Tue Dec 24, 2019 1:28 pm Disney's "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker" Shows the Force Has Weakened

Re: The END of Star Wars
I'm more sanguine about these, because in our household the 17 yr old is ALL about this franchise and also Marvel. He rewatches them pretty much all the time while doing other things. They get timed in such a way as to have recently seen everything leading up to whenever the next movie is due, so as to keep the proper sequence going.
So, these quaint notions of "good movie" or "bad movie" don't really matter much. And I don't understand how or why casual viewers would see any of them without seeing all of them.
I did tell him, after we saw it last week, that he no longer needs to see any of the earlier ones because most of them are really just shoehorned into this one.

Re: The END of Star Wars
Just saw it. Very convoluted and seems to stretch on forever. Dulls one to death.

Re: The END of Star Wars
I enjoyed it.
Wasn't a perfect movie by any means, but way better than what Lucas did with the prequels.
