Forum disappeared from Tapatalk

Post by baldrick »

I'm sure you guys know this already, but just in case, something seems to have gone wonky with tapatalk.

The forum has disappeared completely. It's been removed from my groups and doesn't show up in any searches.

Hopefully an easy fix - fingers crossed!

Happened to me too. I got logged out somehow. The Deals thread is only visible once logged in. [emoji3577]

I can't even see or search for the forum in tapatalk - its completely disappeared. As in, I can search for WUS, or Rolex Forums or whatever, and those come up in the search results. Nothing for this forum though and it's been removed from my tapatalk groups.

I haven't done anything regarding Tapatalk, so whatever is happening must be an error on their end

I will investigate and are what's going on. In the mean time, this site renders very nicely on all mobile devices and browsers and is pretty user friendly. Give it is a shot.

I switched away from Tapatalk to the mobile browser last year. I haven't looked back and it is infinitely better in my humble opinion.

EDIT: I keep getting booted out and the forum is unfollowed and disappears again. The trick below seems to be working for now, but is a pain to do each time.

EDIT 2: not sure if relevant, but when I try to log in each time, it asks me if I am baldrick and states my correct email address. If I click "yes", login fails and I enter an error message saying "invalid forum key". If I click "no", I can log in as baldrick by typing username and password manually.

------‐‐
Ok, I managed to get it back (typically right after I shot off an email to tapatalk support).

For anyone else having this problem - at least those with android - this might help.

I couldn't find the forum by any search permutation I could think of. It's like it no longer exists in tapatalk's forums database, but the content is there in the background.

On the tapatalk app home screen, where all of your different subscribed forum icons are, you can scroll down, past a load of recommended forums and ads, and then you get to a selection of topics/thread titles taken from your various forums.

On about the fourth look, an MoT thread randomly popped up there amongst all the others.

I could click on that, which then gave me the option to follow the forum again (I also had to log back in).

No idea why the forum doesn't appear in searches or why/how that thread happened to pop up, but hope this can help anyone else having this issue.

If tapatalk respond, I'll update the thread.

As ManOnTime mentioned, there IS the option of not using Tapatalk.

I've never used Tapatalk and have never really had any issues on mobile.

Although I realize some folks do enjoy the platform.

I checked all the settings here and at Tapatalk. Everything is current and up to date.

If there is still difficulty finding us on Tapatalk, it is definitely something on their end.

Thanks both. It's still playing up so will see what tapatalk say.

It's got its many downsides (case in point) but generally I find the tapatalk app easier and more convenient for my uses. There's also the problem of habit!

That said, I agree the forum loads well and looks good on mobile browsers.

I also experienced WUS going away this morning and couldn't find it in the search. Now both MoT and WUS show, however I'm not able to "like" MoT posts (even though I'm signed in). Oh well, I'll wait till things sort themselves out.

Thank you all for sharing your experiences.

I'll reiterate again, any functionality issues that arise are on Tapatalk's end. I have the plug-in and everything else configured properly here.
