SUCCESSFUL: Kickstarter: Ganymede Watches - Series 01

Post by TheJohnP »

Ganymede watches is launching their first Kickstarter for a vintage/steampunk-esque model, the Series 01

I do like gimmicky watches, but the four hand dial system seems a little overly complicated. But sure it's something one gets used to.
But the difficulty in reading time and only colorways are bronze PVD or rose gold PVD, not one for me.

Kickstarter pricing for either colorway is $350
Regular pricing will be $425

Estimated delivery is November 2019

From their description:
"For the Series 01, the specific inspiration for the case and window comes from vintage diving helmets also known as copper hats and the pod shaped style of old submarines."

To read the time, the special four pointed colored hand corresponds to the color of the text on the dial. The following illustrations and video show how to read the time:

This is a Rube Goldberg machine. Ridiculously overcomplicated system for indicating time.

Agreed. And it would be cool if you could actually read it fairly easy but they chose not to make the display very large or legible.

I don't understand why at some times (4, 8, 11) there are two hands pointing at the same number, but other times there are only 1?
I wish that watch were 38mm?

Because it is a poor design. I am all for innovation and creativity, but this one should never make it to production,

If Xeric can figure it out, can't be that hard.
