Sporting the Zelos Swordfish today while enjoying an old fashioned. Tried a new recipe that I borrowed from a pub in Rhode Island on my recent vacation. This may be my favorite version yet.

Details on the old fashioned!! I rarely drink ****, but when I do, it's an old fashioned.mrb12186 wrote:Sporting the Zelos Swordfish today while enjoying an old fashioned. Tried a new recipe that I borrowed from a pub in Rhode Island on my recent vacation. This may be my favorite version yet.

Sure thing! It’s actually not much of a departure from a standard one except for how the simple syrup is made. I always use simple syrup instead of plain sugar because it’s already dissolved and you can use it to add flavors. This one uses a chamomile syrup, it’s not too up front, just gives it a nice extra bit of complexity.Dub Rubb wrote:Details on the old fashioned!! 2oz bourbon or rye
1.5 tsp simple syrup*
Splash of single malt (optional)
Cherry
Orange peel
*1:1 chamomile tea and Demerara sugar, simmer until completely dissolved, let cool.
Also, I use these cherries from Trader Joe’s, they’re pretty much like Luxardos for a fraction of the price.

Been a long day filled with 2 year old birthday parties, 5 game series of cornhole, my wife’s alma mater beating a top 5 team, going to a party where kids were considered alien life forms, and my team smacking around a familiar foe. Through it all my should be summer only yellow Komandirskie kept me company. Can’t seem to put this watch away.
Ending the day beverage compliant with a delicious IPA from the land of the Man on Time and watching LSU/Florida. Cheers gentleman!
Ps. Not my finest pour

Crowns pics are hard enough to get right. Polished crown pics, even harder, IMHO.
Just my $0.02 USD as always.

Signed crown Sunday compliance.

Started off the day with carnivore compliance, but just switched up for Signed Crown Sunday. I also have ribs that have been in the crock pot for 6 1/2 hours for bonus compliance soon.

I really like the look of these combat subs, and for the price, they are a ridiculous bargain. I haven't seen the side profile before, but it sure looks like it wears comfy. Nice and thin with those curved lugs. Mmmmmm. . .tommy_boy wrote:Crowns pics are hard enough to get right. Polished crown pics, even harder, IMHO.

Such a pretty movement. Post more pics! I love seeing the backside. Sometimes I wish I would've gone with the sapphire back. Maybe I'll get an aftermarket caseback someday. That said, I have no regrets. I really wanted the flight qualified one.Dub Rubb wrote:Started off the day with carnivore compliance, but just switched up for Signed Crown Sunday.

Can't blame you. That is THE moonwatch as far as I am concerned(aside from the Pogue lol). I was torn between the two, but it is fun to watch the stop/start and reset of the chrono in action. Let's not kid ourselves though, how much time are you REALLY looking at the back of your watch. If Omegas movements weren't so good looking, I would have never considered the display back.Stretch44 wrote:Such a pretty movement. Post more pics! I love seeing the backside. My SARBs for example(033, 035 and 065) could all benefit from a slimmer non display back. The 6R movements aren't that special to look at. Same with the 4R and 7S movements, why even bother?!?

Here are a couple more movement shots for you Stretch. I just wish tapatalk didn't compress them so much.

I’d like to get all the moon watches, but I’m afraid the Bulova is possibly the only one that’s achievable. I guess that’s why a grail is called a grail.
