MoT Forum Watch: Cincinnati Watch Co or Others

I effed up my vote so I guess I'll at least comment. I do like field watches and the 39mm with 20mm lugs is great. The whole watch is actually quite similar to one of the possible directions I kinda hoped the project might take (i.e. 38-40mm field watch with SII NH). But I was hoping that the project would stay under $200, since that is my usual range. I'm not optimistic that sub-$200 will be possible here though; we'll see.

I do like the idea of a truly bespoke watch but given the diversity in taste/aesthetics, it might be much harder to come up with a design to suit many members, but interestingly, having an established design may end up having more takers.

Perhaps we need to start gauging interest from the start.
Poll for interest for:
Build from cratch
Microbrand mod
Style...
Then start narrowing options down.

Voted based on appeal.
Final price will determine a more accurate vote.

The field watch is just amazing. That's my pick for sure.
I could really be tempted to go in on this, but with a peculiar wish: that the ManOnTime branding be on the caseback. I'm not a fan of branding besides the maker on the dial (even as big a fan as I am of this place!). If branding would be on the dial, I'd be out, with no hard feelings of course. I'm not even sure how possible that is, just a thought.

Unfortunately I'm out. Import taxes to Europe would make it too expensive for me!
But still, very happy to see the forum doing this.

I’m thinking I could help you out with that if you are really interested. I could send over as a gift to get around the import taxes.cuica wrote:Unfortunately I'm out. Import taxes to Europe would make it too expensive for me!

Re: MoT Forum Watch: Cincinnati Watch Co or Others
Hello everyone! We have options in terms of altering this watch. I want everyone to keep in mind we have changes in store for the upcoming re-release of this watch, the case will be the same, but the movement is changing to the NH38. The NH71 took over a year to be produced, just too long of a wait... The new version will have a closed caseback as the NH38 is not quite as pretty to look at as the NH71. (Still a no-date movement, no "ghost" date position) We also have some other "surprises" in store that I cannot talk about just yet.
Some more things to consider:
1. Making a new dial is a option, but keep in mind I already have molds in place for the current dial. If we want a all new dial we will have to have samples produced and would make the delivery later than the production pre-order. (If we want this we better get going on the dial design right away)
2. I have read interest in cathedral hands, we could easily change out the current hands Hour/Minute for cathedral. (This would be a easy change, we can leave the second hand as is or move to another model)
3. Since the new caseback will be solid steel a special engraving could be added for the MoT edition caseback. (This would be very easy, especially if all else stayed the same with the watch)

Really appreciate your generous offer!
Yet, customs are picky around here.
Will stay around this thread though, I'm curious about the outcome.

KISS
Keep every thing the same as the Cincy and add something to the caseback like the MOT clock logo or Billy.

I'd recommend avoiding Billy to avoid any IP infringement.

Agree. I own the rights to the dial logo, so that one is fair game.

Re: MoT Forum Watch: Cincinnati Watch Co or Others
I really like the look of the Cincinnatus as a field watch. Putting cathedral hands would add a nice touch and maybe a little MoT clock counterbalance on the secondhand would look good IMO. The rest of the dial looks good as is. Nice, clean and simple
