2020 New and Upcoming Releases!
Re: 2020 New and Upcoming Releases!
I LOVE the white one. Really dig the all-24 bezel. My only gripe is I wish it had the arabic numerals that the red one has.
Honestly for a top grade Setilla gmt movement $1500 retail isn't that bad. The Chris Ward C65 GMT uses the same movement and costs just over$1000, but it' an elabore grade. Their c60 Elite uses chronometer grade, but it costs $2000.

I love the white one as well. I got my World Timer with the top grade ETA before they pulled them off the site. I am so happy with it - it's been +2-3s/day, and price is reasonable.Boourns wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 1:06 pm I LOVE the white one. Really dig the all-24 bezel. This was the combo I did when playing around with the option. Not in cards for me right now though.pdsf wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 4:31 pmI love the white one as well. I see on the page they have an image of it on a SS braclet, but I don't see it as an option when ordering:Stretch44 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 5:13 pmThis was the combo I did when playing around with the option. They sell a bracelet separately, so I presume it's this one:forbesguthrie wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 5:30 pmI see on the page they have an image of it on a SS braclet, but I don't see it as an option when ordering:

Re: 2020 New and Upcoming Releases!
I'm guessing a reissue/update of an old model?
Positive it will be in their perpetual "nearly new" sales soon after, though.

Re: 2020 New and Upcoming Releases!
I don't think CW has a compressor style watch in their back catalogue. So maybe an homage to a classic supercompressor? I'm looking forward to this.
Re: 2020 New and Upcoming Releases!
Yes I think it's a new compressor style watch. The subject to the email is "A new watch. A long-lost mechanism. Resurfaces 28/08/20"
I wonder what the "long-lost mechanism" refers to. It sounds like a different kind of movement, but that seems unlikely from CW. Also the backwards e in the graphic is probably a clue.

Do modern compressor watches use an actual compressor case?Boourns wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 6:53 pm Yes I think it's a new compressor style watch. The subject to the email is "A new watch. A long-lost mechanism. Resurfaces 28/08/20"

Grasping at straws here.

Edit: Will be interesting to see. I think some brands use an actual compressor case (e.g., Farer, according to W&W and Hodinkee) while some just call a dual-crown diver having a compressor case when it's not actually a compressor case (I am assuming that's what you were referring to).

Re: 2020 New and Upcoming Releases!
I vaguely remember a few years ago when Farer released their 1st gen compressors they made a big deal of making it known to be a true compressor case. I just re-watched W&W's review of it (the 1st 2 minutes anyway) and Zach said the same thing. I don't know anything beyond that though.pdsf wrote:Probably not? Can’t speak for all brands but I think the Farer one is not an actual compressor case.TheJohnP wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 7:05 pmDo modern compressor watches use an actual compressor case?Boourns wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 6:53 pm Yes I think it's a new compressor style watch. Re: 2020 New and Upcoming Releases!
I think that's a really good guess. I think a true super compressor case could be described as a mechanism.TheJohnP wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 7:05 pmDo modern compressor watches use an actual compressor case?Boourns wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 6:53 pm Yes I think it's a new compressor style watch. Looks like a preproduction model, as the hands seem like they're coated black (and not a reflection).forbesguthrie wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 5:30 pm

I'd say a missed opportunity, to be honest.
