As you may have noticed, we we're offline this morning. This was caused by the "Thanks" plug-in going rogue and using up way too many server resources. This triggered an automatic suspension by our hosting provider as they thought it was a malicious attack. The "Thanks" plug-in has been disabled, hopefully temporarily so I can determine if that was indeed the cause, and take steps to prevent it from happening in the future.

I apologize for the disruption and for any confusion that may have caused.

I've put in two complaints, they've asked me for patience while they investigate. According to the tracking, it's supposed to be in a logistics center in my city, so I hope the marine chronometer finally appears. It is the first package I lose, after hundreds of purchases and shipments.

If it doesn't appear, it's bought on ebay and paid via Paypal, I don't think there will be any problems.

Decided to act on a deal I posted.

I don't have any watch like this.

Now, if only I can figure out how to work this thing!

By a great stroke of luck, I stumbled upon this beauty last night while browsing Ebay. A 1960's Universal Geneve with a beautiful gold linen dial and an incredibly thin in-house hand-wind movement, bringing the watch's total thickness to just under six millimeters. The price rang in at $360, including the genuine crocodile strap. Needless to say, I'm very pleased.

Edit: An interesting story has already arisen! When I initially saw this watch, I recognized it from an Urban Gentry video. It turns out that was for good reason: it was being sold by none other than TGV! It's a small world, if you'll indulge the cliché.

I just made my first watch purchase in about two months- I bought a Seiko SBDC063 dive watch. It will be replacing my Steinhart Ocean One GMT. So that watch is for sale if there's any interest.

From a suggestion from quincas, going to try out this Xeric moonphase.
Been on the hunt for one with a larger moon, will see if this fits the bill.
My only concern is that it is 44mm, so larger watch = larger moon?

Just a tip for anyone buying off Watches.com, they have a "MAKE OFFER" feature which you can submit a price and either get accepted, declined, or counteroffered.

For instance, the sale price on the Xeric was $199, I made an offer for $149, and accepted their counter of $161.

I bought one of these because I love the design. Then I sold it because it was too big for me. Then I bought another one because I convinced myself I could pull it off. Then I sold it again. Good thing I bought them both used. Awesome watch. Awesome watch.

I bought it for cheap from discountshop and if I love it I’ll sell a couple to fund it. I need to start selling soon, but I have so many keepers I really can’t think of any to let go of.
