I am in for the mecaquartz. I was just thinking I might go for the white dial (was going to go for the black).....
Black is a consideration for me too, but prefer steel bezel and this choice seems to be only offered with vintage brownish looking lume.
For me I thought white dial with black bezel could work! Alas we have some time to decide.

I've selected the black dial, red bezel mecaquartz. I may end up changing my mind and selecting something else though.

This is the one I've selected:

I have a strong hunch I will switch to this though:

I wish I could get the red bezel on that one.

W&W has some real-life pictures which may help with decision making: https://wornandwound.com/bringing-back- ... ndiver-wt/

I am not even looking for a watch now and the mechaquartz has me slightly tempted. I would need to sell my Codek Spiral to help fund it, and I am not quite ready for that (pretty close though).

This is a sexy ass looking watch to me.

In for one mechaquartz...classic black dial/green indices with black bezel

The W&W pic of the one with the blue bezel insert seems quite nice. Let's see if they'd change the white indices to BGW9 lume. Decisions decisions....

OK, now you guys have me looking at vintage skin divers on eBay. It looks like the Wolbrook and Douglas watches are not very dear to those that can service movements. It doesn’t look like a terribly complicated movement to service with those giant screw heads. Of course I have never serviced a watch before.
Image
It looks like they were smaller at around 39mm including the crown. Found a skin diver fix it up lot that I am keeping my eye on, but it will probably go out of my price range. Single examples have gone for between $20 and $120 or so depending upon the condition, so an original is easily within reach for those interested in the history. Having an original in beat up shape next to a reissue night make for an interesting display/picture. It would also highlight the design choices made by the current team while updating it.

It is nice that these are now a bit bigger and in stainless steel though. For those with smaller wrists, a vintage version might be an option.

Edit: is it just me or does this movement say Woolbrock? I will have to check the listings again. Possibly this was an imitator and I need to dig deeper for the correct movement shot.

Edit 2: OK, that listing shows the dial as Woolbrook, so it could be just a weak strike on that part. It does really look like a C though. This watch needed service and had some cosmetic issues, but sold for less than $20.

Not to get off topic, but this is a re-born brand so I took a look to see what else they made in the past. I found a nifty sports chronograph and a thermometer complication watch. There were some enviable looking photos on eBay, so I thought I would share.

I am pretty sure they wouldn’t be interested in making either of these, but it is fun to look into the back catalog of some of the defunct brands.

I am glad that someone enjoyed it. It is an odd complication. Almost as if someone took the bi-metal coil from a thermostat and just stuck it on there. The coil is right there above the dial. It seems like an inelegant solution to me, but on the watch it looks to work quite well in the design.

That it is marked as coming from France and having F instead of C markings for temperature tickles me for some reason.

The listing shows the movement, which seems to be the same as in the WT Skindiver, and identifies it as a Cattin C66 movement. Another little bit of info to add to the pile. Now to investigate that movement.

For more pictures, you can see the eBay listing at https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpr ... 3746864616
These don’t stay up forever, so I will post a few more.

Yes, I was wondering the same re F and C. I actually missed the coil the first time. Ha! Inelegant, yes, but maybe one of the very few ways it would work. Looks like very fun watch. Thanks again for finding it.

I might need to be sedated to resist this for one last day. The WT Pro has been calling my name for a week and a half.
